Those students looking to pursue higher studies from abroad, generally prefer going to the USA. However, students are not aware of the appropriate application process for applying to universities in the USA. The application process will be the same for most of the universities, however, there must be a separate element for the application process for each of the universities. It varies between different study programs and levels.

Before applying students should know when to start the application process for US Universities. These are some of the important things which students should know before applying to US universities. There are two main intake seasons of US universities fall and spring. Unlike India, universities in the USA follow a bi-semester system where an academic year is divided into two semesters.

Below are the requirements for the BBA course at the University of New Hampshire:

1. ACT and SAT scores (optional): SAT and ACT for your overall score. However, if you have taken the test more than once, you are suggested to submit the highest scores on the SAT or ACT.  

2. Transcripts of your high school: Transcripts include your information and performance in high school and other scores such as entrance exams, i.e. SAT or ACT.

3. LOR: At UNH, all programs ask for a LOR, and with particular exceptions, who should write those letters. 

4. SOP: A SOP helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants.

• Minimum Residency Requirement: 32 credits must be taken at UNH

• Minimum GPA: 2.0 required for conferral*

Transcripts and degrees: The applicant must provide the university with transcripts of their academics with degree certificates. Similarly, applying for PhD or doctoral program may require a master’s degree and transcripts from all graduate institutions of the applicant.

Entrance exam: Graduate school entrance exams are most common, but the programs might require different exams from the applicants. The most common exam UNH accepts from applicants is GRE(  Graduate Record Examination) and GMAT. 

Resume/CV:  The University also might ask you for a CV or a resume, depending on the course you choose for professional experience. 

The foundations of the term “Ivy-League” are not confirmed. There is more than one theory surrounding the name or when it was first coined. Still, most tend to believe the name refers to the ivy covering the buildings of the universities that are now a part of that prestigious pack.
