The semester GPA shall be computed by dividing the sum of the Grade Point Weight (GPW) of all the courses of the study be the maximum credit for the semester. The GPW are in turn calculated as the product of the grade points earned in the respective courses and the credit assigned to that course.Generally, the CGPA is calculated in different ways in the college.The college faculty some times changes the grading system as their wish. They don't follow the same grading system every semester or year. Sometimes there may be relatively grading.Some times they may use absolute grading. They will fix the pass marks sometimes and start the grading from that mark in the subject. So there is no particular grading system followed in amrita college. CGPA is average of semester GPA's.

I don't know the exact number of overall students studying in Amritapuri Campus, but there as many as of 3000-4000 students in my knowledge. I found from a source that as per the cutoff in 2021, there is around 3500 students studying in Amritapuri Campus. However, it is always best to refer the average students population with the University directly or can refer their official website. 

Following a predetermined process is usually required for admission to Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham - Amritapuri Campus. Direct admission might be an option in some circumstances, but it's crucial to remember that the specific requirements and processes for admission are subject to change. You must receive a minimum of 60% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and 55% in each of these subjects, to be admitted to Amritapuri. For all fields other than computerScienceengineering, which has a total of 30% of the seats at Amrita allocated for JEE, the percentage fluctuates depending on the number of applicants and the total number of seats available for that particular programme. 12 branches are there in engineering stream in Amrita University Coimbatore. Engineering branch strength would be between 1500 and 2000. Total campus strength of students would be 3500 to 4000. CSE strength would be between 420 to 500. Civil engineering strength will be less than 100. Mechanical engineering strength will be 150 to 200 and other branches would be 800 to 900 combinely. This is the estimation of strength every year mostly.

First of all, the faculty members are very friendly and they help students in needs of their curriculum. Amrita has a very peaceful and exciting campus atmosphere. They provide many internship opportunities as well as they have many student exchange programs where you can go and study abroad, in any university we like, only if we should get a good CGPA and SGPA in semesters. Also, as Amrita is very well known for their placements, almost 95% of students will get placed over here in many institutions. With respect to all these aspects, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is as Unique as every other universities out there.

If the student misses the internal exam there will missed exam for the students.There will internal exams called periodical 1 and periodical 2. If the students misses the periodicals then there will be missed periodical conducted for the students who are absent for the periodicals. The students should get permission from the subject faculty and class advisory and tell the reason for the absent in the exam.So missed periodical will be conducted if student misses internal exam. Missed labs and missed quizzes also will be conducted if they miss any lab exams and quizzes. The syllabus for the missed periodical will be more when compared to other periodicals syllabus. End semester syllabus will be there for missed periodical. If the faculty refuse to attend for periodical then you may be in trouble.

The hostels and PGs that are closer to university are ARR Boys hostel, Sibi residence boys hostel, Punnassery nest ladies hostel, princess ladies hostel these are in the raduius of 5km from college. The rented houses are also available to students near the college in the village.Students can stay there.Unless there is strong reason students cannot stay outside the college, but above mentioned hostels are the hostels near the college.College buses will be there to different routes and students can take hostels based on the bus routes to make it easy. But the permission to live outside the college is very difficult. Mostly the students should stay in hostel.

There is no pass or fail in internals in Amrita College. If the students get less marks in internals then they should work hard and get more marks in end semester exams.The internals and end semester weightage would be 50:50 for theory subjects. 60:40, 70:30 like wise. These ratio of internals for a particular subject will be different from each subject. The ratio of internals and end semester will be decided by the subject mentors. So if the students get less marks in internals they should get more marks in end semester. So there is no fail and pass for internal exams and there is no minimum marks needed to pass in internals and to write end semester exams. You have to get overall minimum marks to pass in subject.

Every year these is a technical fest called Anokha. Anokha fest will be of 3 days. It is technical fest where the students from outside the campus can also participate. The coding competitions and other technical competitions will be conducted and there will be the cash prize which is given for the winners in the coding competitions.Food stalls will be there for 3 days. Cultural events also happens for anokha. There will be special events for cultural programs known as Amritotsavam.There are groups known as Natyasudha for dance and Ragasudha for music.The performances will be done by them during amritotsavam.The festivals like Gokulashtami, onam, ugadhi will be celebrated. Gokulashtami will be celebrated for 3 days, whose 3 days there will be events and competitions among the students.Ugadhi is also celebrated for 2 to 3 days and cultural events like dance and music are performed for festivals.
