There is no cut-off as such however the eligibility criteria varies from course to course. If the eligibility criteria mention that the candidate should have studied a certain subject in 11th & 12th then your performance in the said subject becomes an important factor, however, there are exceptions for this case too. While your previous academic performance might provide meaningful insight into your aptitude it does not necessarily mean that you are fit to pursue that discipline. Pursuing science for higher studies requires more than just marks, it requires will and the ability to enjoy the subject for the duration of your studies.
