To pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in India, you need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria, including minimum educational qualifications and minimum marks. The minimum marks requirement varies from college to college and may also depend on the category to which you belong.
As per the Bar Council of India (BCI) rules, to be eligible for admission to a three-year LLB program, you need to have completed graduation in any discipline with at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates). For a five-year integrated LLB program, you need to have completed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates).
In your case, if you have completed your graduation with 40% marks and post-graduation with 54% marks, you may not be eligible for admission to an LLB program in most colleges. However, there may be some colleges that have a lower minimum marks requirement and you can check with those colleges for their eligibility criteria.
Alternatively, you can also consider pursuing other courses in the legal field such as diploma courses, certificate courses, or online courses in various areas of law, which may have different eligibility criteria.

1. Educational qualifications: You must have completed an LLB degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50-55%. Some universities may also require you to have a certain minimum score in specific subjects.
2. Entrance exam: Some universities or colleges may require you to appear for an entrance exam such as CLAT PG, AILET PG, or LSAT. These exams evaluate your knowledge and understanding of various aspects of law and are used to shortlist candidates for admission.
3. Work experience: Some universities or colleges may give preference to candidates with work experience in the legal field, especially for specialized LLM programs such as international law or intellectual property law.
4. English proficiency: Many LLM programs are conducted in English, so you may be required to demonstrate proficiency in the language through a standardized test such as TOEFL or IELTS.
Regarding the cut off for LLM, it can vary widely depending on the university or college you are applying to and the number of applicants. It is best to research the specific LLM program you are interested in and check the admission requirements and cut off criteria of that program. Some universities may also release previous years' cut-off marks as a reference for candidates.
