IMU is the right option for doing degree in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering. No educational institutions can ever confirm guaranteed placement because demand depends on external parameters which is not in thier control.

Basically if you want to get into any private institutes for Marine Engineering, most of the institutes conduct their own independent tests also they take the IMU CET rank under consideration as well.

Yes you can. IMU CET exam is conducted in month of May or June every year. Exam fee for general category is Rs.1000 & for OBS it is Rs. 800.
