The Symbiosis Centre for Management & Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) is one of the renowned institutes under the Symbiosis International University, offering MBA and PGDM programs. The admission procedure for MBA at SCMHRD is a multi-step process, which involves several stages such as entrance exams, group discussions, and personal interviews. In this article, we will discuss the detailed procedure for taking MBA admission at SCMHRD.Entrance Exam - The first step in the MBA admission process at SCMHRD is taking the entrance exam, which is conducted by the institute itself. The exam is known as the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP). SNAP is a computer-based test that evaluates candidates on various parameters such as General English, General Awareness, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative, Technical, and Data Interpretation.Registration and Application - Candidates must register for SNAP on the official website of the Symbiosis International University. After registration, they can fill out the application form, which requires personal and academic details. Candidates must also upload necessary documents, such as photographs and signatures, as per the specifications provided on the website.SNAP Test Result and Shortlisting - After the SNAP exam, the results are declared on the official website. Candidates who qualify the exam are shortlisted based on their scores and other criteria, such as academic performance, work experience, and extra-curricular activities. Shortlisted candidates are then invited to attend the subsequent rounds of the selection process.Group Discussion and Personal Interview - Shortlisted candidates are called for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds, which are conducted at the SCMHRD campus or other designated centers. The GD is an evaluative exercise where candidates participate in a group discussion on a pre-determined topic. The PI is an individual assessment where candidates are interviewed by a panel of faculty members and industry experts.Written Ability Test (WAT) - Some candidates might be required to take the Written Ability Test (WAT), which is an essay-writing exercise based on a given topic. Candidates are given a specific time to write the essay, which is then evaluated by the selection committee.Final Selection and Admission - The final selection of candidates is based on their overall performance in the entrance exam, GD, PI, and WAT, if applicable. The shortlisted candidates are offered provisional admission to the MBA program, subject to fulfilling certain eligibility criteria and completing the admission formalities.Admission Formalities - Upon receiving the provisional admission offer, candidates must confirm their admission by paying the required fees and submitting necessary documents, such as academic transcripts, work experience certificates, and category certificates (if applicable). Candidates must also secure a seat by paying the remaining fees and reporting to the institute on the specified date.ConclusionThe MBA admission procedure at Symbiosis Centre for Management & Human Resource Development is a multi-step process that includes taking the SNAP entrance exam, shortlisting based on scores and criteria, attending GD & PI rounds, and finally confirming the admission by fulfilling the necessary formalities. The minimum cutoff for MBA at Symbiosis Centre for Management & Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) varies from year to year and is subject to change. It is determined based on various factors such as the number of applicants, their profiles, and the overall performance in the entrance exams.Admission Process at SCMHRD: SCMHRD follows a rigorous selection process for its MBA program. The admission process consists of the following stages:Entrance Exam: Candidates need to appear for a national-level management entrance exam such as CAT (Common Admission Test), SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test), or GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). The score obtained in any of these exams is considered for shortlisting.Shortlisting: Based on the entrance exam scores, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process. The cutoff scores for shortlisting are determined by SCMHRD and may vary each year.Group Exercise (GE): Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Group Exercise, which assesses their communication skills, teamwork abilities, and problem-solving skills. The GE is typically conducted in a group discussion format.Personal Interview (PI): Candidates who clear the Group Exercise round proceed to the Personal Interview stage. The PI evaluates the candidate’s knowledge, aptitude, personality traits, and suitability for the program.Written Ability Test (WAT): Some institutes, including SCMHRD, also conduct a Written Ability Test as part of their selection process. This test assesses a candidate’s writing skills and analytical thinking ability.Final Selection: The final selection is based on a composite score that takes into account the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam, GE, PI, and WAT. The weightage assigned to each component may vary each year.Minimum Cutoff for MBA at SCMHRD: As the cutoff varies from year to year, it is advisable to refer to the official website or admission brochure of SCMHRD for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the minimum cutoff score. The cutoff is usually announced after the declaration of entrance exam results and may differ for different categories (such as General, SC/ST, OBC, etc.).It is important to note that meeting the minimum cutoff does not guarantee admission to SCMHRD. The cutoff serves as a benchmark for shortlisting candidates for further stages of the selection process. The final admission decision is based on various factors, including the candidate’s overall profile, academic background, work experience (if any), performance in GE-PI-WAT rounds, and availability of seats.
