Impact on Grades: Internal exams often contribute to the overall assessment and grading of a course. If a student misses an internal exam, their grade for that particular exam or assignment may be affected. It could result in a lower grade or a zero score for that specific evaluation component. There is a RE-TAKE exam also. The best part is that we have two exams so if you miss one you are eligible to give Test 2 of the same subject. Make-up or Remedial Exams: Some institutions may offer make-up exams or remedial opportunities for students who missed an internal exam due to valid reasons, such as medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. So, if a student fails in particular exam then he/she is required to re-appear that particular subject and gets a Backlog but can clear it in the next Semster. Retaking the Exam: In some cases, students may be given an opportunity to retake the failed internal exam, either through a makeup exam or as part of a subsequent assessment. Admission to the above courses will be conducted on the basis of merit rank of the candidate in SID.Note that the merit rank will be prepared considering the performance of the candidate in the SEED 2026 written exam, Personal interaction, and Portfolio and PRPI Task review.

Both are equally good and well known name in education. For B.Com you should choose the cheaper one although Symbosis is a brand and well known for professional courses but I would prefer Xavier as it is cheaper and has good brand value in job market. 

SID presently offers only UG courses in design. So, candidates can't appear in the SEED 2026 exam for admission to any PG courses. The SEED written exam is administered in the month of January. Candidates who qualify in the written exam has to next appear in a PRPI round. The final merit list for SID will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in the SEED 2026 written exam, personal interaction, and PRPI and Portfolio review.There are currently 180 seats available for the B.Des programme for Indian nationals. There are also 27 supernumerary seats earmarked for international students. 

The eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Des programme is determined by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). The candidates can go through the program-specific eligibility criteria on the admission portal of SID - sid.edu.in. SEED 2024 eligibility criteria for the B.Des programme is explained below.A candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream) or an equivalent or 10+3 Diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% (SC/ST - 45%) aggregate marks.Candidate who are appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma programme may also apply. However, the results of the examination should have be declared by June of the admission year or prior.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des programme at SID need to first appear in the SEED 2026 written exam. Shortlisted candidates have to appear in a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round. To appear in the personal interaction, the candidate will have to book their slots. The candidate will also have to upload a PRPI Task and Portfolio. The final merit list for admission will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction. The admission committee will also take into account the information provided by the candidate in the application form and the chosen specialization.
