TNOU Diploma total tuition fee ranges between INR 3,500 and INR 7,200. Candidates need to pay fee after completion of the selection rounds to confirm their seat. Tamil Nadu Open University fees include multiple components, such as the tuition fee, hostel fee, etc. Caution fee is one-time payable at the time of admission.  The fee excludes caution deposit of INR 300.

TNOU offers two-year B.Ed Special Education in distance education mode via the Department of Special Education and affiliated colleges. The course is spread across four semesters. The duration is two-years for candidates with RCI recognised D.Ed Specialisation Education, Candidates can complete the programme within a maximum period of four years, after enrolment.For candidates who does not possess any RCI recignised D.Ed Special Education, the duration of the course is two and a half years. However, the student is permitted to complete the programme within a maximum period of 5 years, after enrolment.

Tamil Nadu Open University Diploma courses are offered for one or two years. Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 10 to apply for Diploma courses. The university selects candidates for Diploma courses based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. 

The total strength for seats for B.Ed admission is 1,000. These aspirants are admitted to Tamil medium (500 students) and English medium (500 students) based on rank list separately prepared for each medium.
