{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what we've gathered:Pros:* Good placement record: While the placements might not be excellent, 70% of students were placed last year, with some even securing packages up to INR10 LPA.* Experienced and helpful faculty: Teachers are generally considered knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable, providing immense support to students.* Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is deemed relevant, helping students develop necessary skills for the industry.* Good infrastructure: Laboratories, classrooms, and hostels are well-maintained, providing a conducive learning environment.* Various extracurricular activities: Events like Techxetra, Inscignis, and others are regularly organized, offering students a chance to participate and showcase their talents.Cons:* Limited campus placements: Compared to other departments, particularly the School of Engineering, the M.Sc. department has relatively fewer campus placements.* Fewer internship opportunities: Internship opportunities are limited, and students often rely on self-initiated efforts to secure internships.* Old infrastructure: While the overall infrastructure is good, some hostels and laboratories require upgrading.* Quality of teaching: Some students felt that the quality of teaching wasn't consistent, with some teachers prioritizing completing the course over providing quality instruction.Overall, M.Sc. at Tezpur University seems like a good choice for students looking for a relevant curriculum, experienced faculty, and a pleasant campus atmosphere. However, it's crucial to weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider individual circumstances before making an informed decision. We recommend researching further and reaching out to current students or recent alumni to gain a deeper understanding of the program. Additionally, evaluating the university's strengths and weaknesses can help prospective students make an informed decision. {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}Is B.E./B.Tech at Tezpur University Worth the Investment? Here's a summary of the pros and cons:Pros:* Beautiful campus with lush greenery and good infrastructure* Qualified faculty members with a strong industry connection* Relevant course curriculum with emphasis on practical knowledge* Decent placement record with average salaries ranging from INR4-INR12 lakhs* Opportunities for internships and on-campus/off-campus placements* Availability of scholarships for deserving studentsCons:* Limited placement opportunities for certain branches (e.g., Electrical Engineering)* Difficulty in getting placed in core companies due to location constraints* High competition for limited seats and opportunities* Limited exposure to international companies and organizations* Average quality of hostel food and infrastructureVerdict:While Tezpur University has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and faculty quality, the placement scenario is a concern for certain branches. However, the university's efforts to improve placements and provide opportunities for internships and on-campus/off-campus placements are commendable. For students willing to adapt to the challenges, a B.E./B.Tech degree from Tezpur University can still be a worthwhile investment, especially considering the affordable fees structure compared to other private universities in the region. Ultimately, it's essential for prospective students to weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider factors such as course relevance, placement potential, and personal preferences when making their decision.
