Yes, you should prefer CSE depending on market trends, but keep your interest in mind also. CSE in SRM is very good and something that you can look forward to.

No wonder both of them are highly-reputed colleges, the decision is based on your interest. DAIICT provides degrees in ICT (information and communication technology) and ICT+minors in CS (computational Science). These are computer field related programs and highly beneficial for future studies, placements, research-based opportunities. If you are interested in mechanical engineering and have no interest in programming, computers what so ever, you should surely go for BITS. If you want to look 5 years ahead and get placed in reputed IT companies, go for DAIICT. Computers, cloud technology, machine learning is the future, and the DAIICT course structure is very well designed for you to be industry-ready, the decision is yours.

If you are very much interest in CS then go for it. And if you want to go to IIT then you should join IIT Kanpur or SEE if any other branch you can get try for chemical engineering. The placements and internship stats are excellent at IIT Kanpur. Also most of the company are open to all the branches but sometime priority are give to the branch if everyone is equally talented. Some of MSE courses are difficult to handle but if your CPI is 10 in the first two semester then you can get CSE too. In the first two semester all the branches have same courses. Branch wise courses starts from 3rd semester onwards. Also IIT Kanpur offer double major or minor in every branch and you can do double major along with MSE and pursue you interest. I Hope, I have answered you question.
