Admission to II year/III semester Bachelors in Engineering/Technology (Lateral Entry) shall be open to the candidates who are holders of a Diploma or equivalent qualification as recognized by university who have secured not less than 45% marks in the final year examination (fifth and sixth semesters) in the appropriate branch of engineering.

The Department of Computer Applications was established in 1984, initially with an intake of 30 students and the department admits 60 students every year at present.
Eligibility- 50% in graduation. Candidate must have completed graduation from any recognized University.
Candidate from Category-I of Karnataka who has attained 45% marks in graduation is also eligible to apply.
Admissions- Admission is through counselling based on the marks obtained in Karnataka PGCET conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

The department also provides live projects and guidance to the students through ICL (Innovative Cluster Lab) which is a part of MOU between BMSCE and Altimetrik, thus helping the students in their campus recruitment.

1. Labs and facilities: Though it is one of the most important parts of mechanical engineering to know about the practical application of machinery taught in the theory part, for that, RC College leads in providing the same.
Also, RV College has many clubs related and working in racing and robotics development hence providing better exposure to all.
Also, talking about past placement scenario, the average placement in RV College is 8 LPA, highest goes up to 16 LPA offered by Mu Sigma in this year's placement session. In BMS College, the placement package offered is around 4 LPA and highest reaches up to 10 LPA.

CSE is one of the engineering section where all students want to enter. PES and BMS are very famous campuses in Karnataka where a large number of students study. BMS College of Engineering is one of the best campuses in Karnataka or South India. They offer an excellent teaching methodology.
