The GIBS process for campus recruitment is well organized and supportive. They provide the students with pre-placement training that helps improve their communication, aptitude, and interview skills. After the training sessions, companies are invited to campus for recruitment and present their company profile and the jobs they are recruiting for. Following this, students are taken through multiple rounds of interviewing, which include the aptitude test, group discussion, personal interview, and possibly others, depending on the company's recruitment process. The placement cell coordinates all steps of the hiring process, thus facilitating smooth lines of communication between students and employers. During the entire season, students receive support from their professors and mentors to help them build their confidence and find the supply-demand match between their skills and career aspirations.

At GIBS, candidates can apply simultaneously for both the PGDM and BBA programme, each with different entry requirements. The BBA programme is open to anyone who has completed their 12th grade, whereas the PGDM programme requires applicants to possess a bachelor's degree and maintain a minimum score of 50%. Candidates who meet both requirements may apply for both programmes individually, with their applications assessed based on entrance exam results and academic performance as well as an interview. Further, GIBS conducts its own GIBS Online Entrance Test (GOET) which provides students who did not take the national exams another opportunity to apply to the Institute. The selection process typically includes an applicant's exam score along with an interview and group discussion to assess an applicant's personality, aptitude, and communication ability. As such, applicants from various educational backgrounds are given several options to be eligible for admission to GIBS's management programs.
