The scores generally fall within a specific range, and the university emphasizes a holistic evaluation process rather than relying solely on the entrance exam percentile. Common MAT Cutoff TrendsPercentile Range: The MAT cutoff tends to be slightly higher in percentile terms compared to CAT, typically ranging from 64 to 75 percentile.Consistency: The overall MAT cutoff for the PGDM programme has consistently been around the 64th percentile in recent years (2021-2024).Score Range: In terms of raw scores (out of 800), a score in the range of 500-600 marks is generally considered competitive for admission.

Hi.GIBS Business School primarily uses a merit-based admission system that considers the applicant's overall profile, but it does offer specific considerations and seat allocation for reserved categories and management quota seats. Reservation Policy at GIBSUnlike public institutions (like IIMs) that strictly adhere to the Government of India's comprehensive reservation percentages, private, unaided institutions like GIBS have more flexibility in their admission process. Government-Mandated Reservations: GIBS is an AICTE-approved and UGC-recognized institution and follows government regulations. For candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD), GIBS offers a relaxation in the minimum aggregate marks required in their qualifying degree:General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation.Reserved Categories (SC, ST, etc.): Minimum 45% aggregate marks in graduation.Evaluation and Weightage: The selection process is holistic. While a valid CAT or MAT score is required, the score is only one component of the selection process. The institute also gives weightage to:Academic performance (10th, 12th, graduation).Performance in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).Statement of Purpose (SOP).Participation in sports, extracurricular activities, and work experience.Specific Quotas: GIBS also has specific internal seat allocations:Approximately 20% of seats are reserved under the management quota, filled through an alternate process that still requires meeting basic eligibility and entrance exam qualification.Around 10% of seats are allocated to NRI and international applicants.

Hi.YesThe institution offers a range of scholarships, and performance in entrance exams like MAT (and CAT, XAT, etc.) is a key criterion for determining the amount of the scholarship award. Scholarship Policy at GIBSGIBS has a clear scholarship policy designed to reward academic excellence and strong performance in qualifying examinations. Merit-Based Consideration: The MAT score is a primary indicator of merit used in the scholarship assessment process. Higher scores can lead to more substantial financial aid.Specific Score Tiers: The amount of scholarship typically increases with the percentile achieved in the entrance exam. While specific percentile cutoffs for each scholarship tier can vary by year, achieving a high MAT score (e.g., above the typical admission cutoff of 64+ percentile) is highly beneficial.Holistic Review: The final scholarship amount is determined after a holistic review of the candidate's profile, which includes:Entrance Exam Score: Performance in MAT or other accepted tests.Academic Record: Consistent high scores in 10th, 12th, and graduation.GD/PI Performance: Performance during the Group Discussion and Personal Interview stages of the admission process.Extracurricular Achievements: Participation in sports, cultural activities, and leadership roles.

Hi.The expected MAT cutoff for admission to the PGDM programme at GIBS Business School Bangalore is generally around the 64 percentile. Key Details on the MAT CutoffMinimum Requirement: A MAT score of at least the 64 percentile is the standard benchmark for general category candidates to be considered for shortlisting.Anticipated Range: Expected cutoffs for admission can range from 60-65 percentile in some sources, and for scholarship consideration, a higher score around the 70-75 percentile is preferred.Holistic Evaluation: GIBS uses a holistic selection process. A lower MAT score might be balanced by a strong academic record, significant work experience, and good performance in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.Scholarship Opportunity: Higher scores are rewarded. For example, a composite score of 700 or above (which roughly translates to a higher percentile) is eligible for a higher scholarship amount.

Hi.GIBS Business School assists students with the entrance exam preparation and application process primarily for its own admission cycle, but also helps by streamlining the submission of required information. They do not typically offer extensive coaching for external exams like CAT or MAT themselves. Assistance with the Application ProcessGIBS streamlines its own application process to make it straightforward for students applying with scores from exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, and ATMA.Integrated Form: Candidates can apply online using a single application form on the GIBS website, where they simply enter their scores from the relevant national-level entrance exams.Admissions Counseling: The admissions team provides counseling to guide students through the specific eligibility criteria, required documents, and deadlines.Holistic Evaluation: The school helps candidates understand that the entrance exam score is only one part of their overall assessment. They evaluate applicants holistically, considering academics, work experience, GD/PI performance, and a Statement of Purpose (SOP).GD/PI Preparation (Internal Focus): As part of their internal selection process, GIBS conducts Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Their "Finishing School" programme (Certificate in Personal Mastery Programme) helps students prepare for the personal interview and communication aspects of their final selection round at GIBS. Assistance with External Entrance Exam PreparationGIBS does not typically offer formal coaching classes or test preparation services for the CAT, MAT, or other national-level entrance exams themselves.Focus on Post-Exam Stage: The institute's support begins once the student has a valid score from one of these exams.External Resources: Students are expected to prepare for and take these national exams independently or through external coaching centers before applying to GIBS.

Hi.GIBS Business School supports students in gaining international exposure and securing job opportunities with multinational corporations (MNCs), both in India and potentially abroad, through its extensive corporate network, global immersion programs and skill- building initiatives. International ExposureWhile a formal "study abroad program" isn't explicitly mentioned, GIBS provides several avenues for global perspectives:Global Immersion Programme (GIP): This optional program for BBA and PGDM students involves international tours to business hubs like Singapore, Malaysia, or Dubai. Activities typically include industrial visits to leading companies, workshops, guest lectures by international experts, and visits to foreign universities, providing hands-on international industry exposure.International Collaborations: GIBS has tie-ups with foreign universities such as Nottingham University (UK), Lincoln University (Malaysia), and Stevenson University (USA). These collaborations facilitate academic cooperation, international assignments, and access to international teaching methodologies and global case studies.International Faculty: The institution features faculty and an advisory board with global experience, bringing diverse business practices and international insights into the campus learning environment.Diverse Student Body: Students from various nations (e.g., Bangladesh, China, Nepal) create a cosmopolitan campus, facilitating cross-cultural understanding and networking opportunities among peers. International Internship and Job Placement SupportGIBS Placement Cell works to connect students with a wide range of companies, including numerous multinational corporations. MNC Recruitment: A significant percentage of companies recruiting at GIBS are MNCs, including major names like Amazon, Deloitte, KPMG, HCL, and IBM.Placement Assistance: The placement cell provides 100% placement assistance, with a goal of connecting students to the "best placement opportunities around the world" through campus recruitment.Skill Development for Global Careers: Through its "Finishing School" and "Campus to Corporate" programs, GIBS trains students in global communication skills, analytical thinking, and professionalism, preparing them for the demands of multinational employers.Alumni Network: The vast alumni network, which has members across the globe, is leveraged for mentorship, job referrals, and networking opportunities, which can indirectly aid in securing international placements.
