The faculty of GIBS Business School has a wealth of academic knowledge, but also an extensive background in industry experience. Most professors here have earned at least one advanced degree, such as a Ph.D. or MBA (Master's Degree in Business Administration) and some hold other master's degrees from a variety of universities that are recognised around the world. In addition to the academic qualifications, many GIBS professors are also very much involved in their respective industries and have worked in Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources (HR), Analytics, Consulting and Technology. The combination of their academic qualifications and industry experience gives the professors a unique ability to relate what is presented in a lecture to actual business-related activities. The breadth and depth of both academic qualifications and industry experience enables GIBS professors to provide practical guidance and mentoring to their students who are working on projects/internships, and equips students to meet and overcome the various challenges they will face in their professional careers. Furthermore, with the combination of their knowledge obtained through academia and the insights gained through their experiences working in various businesses, professors at GIBS are capable of training students with regard to developing both the theoretical understandings and the professional perspectives necessary to succeed.

The assignments and source material assigned from GIBS are an important part of the coursework and prepare students for future involvement in the industry. Prior to some classes but not all, faculty provide multiple areas of study to correspond with many aspects: Case studies, Research Articles, and Industry Publications/Reports. Students must acquire sufficient knowledge of the material prior to attending class, which allows for better participation and discussions with classmates regarding real-time business scenarios and how they fit into the overall business community. Therefore, this will lead to an increase in students' ability to critically think, communicate effectively, present, and build self-esteem. The combination of preparatory work with learning/assessments and in-class discussions enables Continuous, Practical, Continuous Learning at GIBS and in alignment/compatibility with Real World Business Settings.

There is no minimum requirement for grades in finance courses that you must achieve while completing a bachelor's degree to qualify to apply for admission to the PGDM program, including finance specialization, at GIBS; instead, candidates who apply to the PGDM programme are assessed for eligibility based on their total grade point average for all courses taken during their degree programme and performance on an entrance exam.To qualify for admission to the PGDM program, applicants must have attained:At least 50% combined average grades from all subjects taken during their undergraduate studies from an accredited institution (45% for candidates from reserved categories, based on government guidelines); andA qualifying score from a recognised management entrance test (cat, mat, cmat, xat, ATMA etc.) or any other test accepted by GIBS as a measure of management aptitude. So, instead of saying "you need at least this level of finance course grade in order to be qualified, ” we are saying that what really matters is how many total course points you received while obtaining your bachelor's degree (50%) plus the results of your entrance exam plus your performance during the selection process (group discussion/personal interview). If you would like to know what the competitive score or percentile range would look like for PGDM finance at gibS, I would be happy to provide you with that information тоже!

While GIBS Business School does not have its own full-dual degree programme available on campus, there are still plenty of international exchange and global exposure options available for students through their various partnerships with other institutions around the world. For example, GIBS partners with the International Association of Educational Executives (IAEAEC) in Russia to provide students with academic exchanges, research projects, and cross-cultural learning opportunities. All these programs help students develop global perspectives, enhanced competencies, and access to international networks as part of their overall management coursework.

Generally, GIBS Business School does not impose a minimum cutoff on the CAT (Common Admission Test) sections when completing a student's admission decision. GIBS considers CAT scores in relation to the entire profile of a candidate, considering the overall CAT scoring percentile and overall profile rather than imposing strict criterion regarding the section scores of the CAT (e.g., VARC, DILR, QA).GIBS takes a holistic view in evaluating applications for admission, as the score from the entrance exam is only one of the items to be considered in determining a student's overall merit. GIBS evaluates a candidate's overall profile, including academic record, entrance exam score, GD, PI and the strength of the complete profile for the purpose of selecting candidates for the shortlist and for future selection rounds. Therefore, even if your section scores are unbalanced, as long as your overall score and percentile are competitive, you may still be included in the shortlist and invited to the next stages of selection.

While GIBS Business School allows candidates to submit scores from the National Examination (CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA or GMAT), it also requires candidates wishing to apply for a PGDM / MBA programme who do not have these scores or wish to increase their chances of being accepted by taking the GIBS Aptitude Test, to take the GIBS Aptitude Test first. This is an internal test administered by GIBS Business School to evaluate candidates' analytical and reasoning skills, communication and interpersonal skills as well as their overall potential. Candidates who are short-listed based upon their performance on the GIBS Aptitude Test may then proceed through the next step of the admissions process (interview and/or group discussion) before receiving a final admissions decision from GIBS Business School.

MAT test scores can be used to determine if an applicant is eligible for a scholarship at GIBS Business School. GIBS uses test performance as the basis for awarding scholarships and accepts a variety of management tests including the MAT (in addition to the CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT, and others). Higher test scores, including those achieved on the MAT, can increase the applicant's chances of being awarded a merit-based scholarship which would reduce their financial burden and reward them for their academic achievements. Therefore, if an applicant achieves a high score on the MAT, it could positively influence their ability to receive a scholarship from GIBS, depending on the institution's scholarship policy and cut-off scores for that year's admission cycle.
