At GIBS, the way they pick faculty is actually very simple but super solid. They don't just hire anyone — they look for people who have strong teaching skills plus real industry experience. Most of the professors have worked in top companies, handled real business projects, and then moved into teaching because they genuinely enjoy guiding students. So you'll see faculty who've been managers, consultants, analysts, HR heads, marketing experts, finance professionals, etc. Some even come from big brands like Deloitte, Infosys, HDFC, Byju's, and many more.GIBS chooses faculty who know the theory and the practical side. That's why classes feel more like real-world learning, not just textbook talk.

Scores accepted at GIBS Business School, Bangalore, include various national-level entrance exams such as the CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, GMAT, and State CET exams. Students will be qualified to apply with any of their scores from these different exams. The selection is based upon overall performance in academics, entrance test scores, group discussions, and personal interviews. However, GIBS offers a merit-based admission where only a student's 10+2 academic performance and aptitude for business studies are considered for admission to the BBA course. Merit-based admission to the BBA course at GIBS does not require an entrance test. A flexible, structured admission process may ensure that undergraduate and postgraduate students are selected on academic potential and career readiness.

Through a carefully planned fusion of experiential learning and corporate engagement, GIBS Business School incorporates industry exposure and hands-on training into its curriculum. The institute places a strong emphasis on the 70:30 learning model, in which theoretical learning accounts for 30% of the curriculum and practical, hands-on experiences for 70%. Live projects, corporate internships, industry visits, and guest lectures by prominent figures in the field provide students with exposure. By providing weekly skill-building sessions, leadership development workshops, and real-world business simulations, GIBS's distinctive IRE School (Innovation, Research & Entrepreneurship) and Finishing School further enhance hands-on learning. This method guarantees that students not only comprehend management ideas but also cultivate the analytical, problem-solving, and social skills necessary to succeed in the cutthroat business world of today.

GIBS Business School programs, such as PGDM and MBA, have a thorough selection process that evaluates a candidate's overall potential. CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT, or CUET scores are used to shortlist applicants for admission. Following their selection, shortlisted candidates must attend a mandatory Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). As the PI evaluates a student's motivation, confidence, subject knowledge, and programme fit, the GD assists in evaluating communication skills, teamwork, and analytical thinking. Ensuring that GIBS admits well-rounded and competent management candidates, the final selection process is based on a combination of entrance exam scores, academic performance, GD-PI results, and overall profile.

Work experience can enrich a candidate's profile in the admission process at GIBS Business School, reflecting professional exposure, maturity, and practical understanding of business environments. However, this is not an eligibility criterion for admission. Freshers are considered equally and their selection is based on academic merit, scores in entrance examinations (like CAT, MAT, CMAT, or XAT), and performance in GD and PI. GIBS welcomes both professionally experienced and freshers to its courses to maintain diversity and strength in the class, ensuring a dynamic learning environment with a blend of academic and real-world perspectives.
