At GIBS, students work together very actively for peer learning and group projects. Most of our assignments are done in teams, so we sit together, discuss ideas, divide the work, and help each other out. In class, we have a lot of presentations, case studies, and activities where everyone shares their views, so we naturally learn from each other.Even outside class, we meet in the library, canteen, or common areas to study and prepare for projects. Seniors also guide us whenever we need help. Overall, the teamwork vibe at GIBS is really strong — everyone supports each other, and it makes learning a lot easier and more fun.

First we have training sessions, aptitude classes, mock interviews, GD practice — all the basic stuff that actually helps a lot. Then once the drives start, it usually goes step by step like this:Company briefing – They come and tell us about the role, package, work culture, everything.Aptitude or online test – Some companies take a basic test.Group Discussion (GD) – Depends on the company, but many do it.Personal Interview – HR + Technical/Managerial rounds.Final selection – If you clear everything, you get the offer letter. ✨The best part is GIBS brings a lot of good companies, and the placement team keeps updating us daily so we don't miss anything. It's basically a very simple and organised process, nothing confusing. If you prepare well and use all the training sessions, placements feel much easier than expected.

Yes, applicants may show different entrance test scores to get admission to GIBS, and the institute usually considers the best valid score in its shortlisting process. The exam scores accepted by GIBS include CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, and GMAT, and candidates can submit scores for more than one exam in order to strengthen their applications. However, in cases of multiple attempts of the same exam (two CATs or two MATs, for instance), GIBS typically takes the highest score among attempts rather than considering the aggregate or average of those attempts. Their official policy does not mention the approach taken when applicants take an exam multiple times, so the general approach followed by most B-schools — taking the best attempt — applies here as well. Thus, applicants may confidently submit their the highest CAT or MAT score along with any other exam score to maximize their chances of selection at GIBS.

That's something I personally like because you get exposure to big brands and proper corporate culture. Some of the common names we keep hearing on campus are like IBM, Deloitte, Accenture, Byju's, Wipro, Amazon, HDFC Bank, Wells Fargo, and many more.So yeah, the placement scene at GIBS is pretty solid, and the mix of MNCs gives students a lot of options to explore.

GIBS Business School, Bangalore does not publish an acceptance rate, but admissions are considered moderately competitive. The candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, or GMAT, usually with a percentile of approximately 60–70% or above. Further, a Group Discussion and Personal Interview are conducted that include assessment of communication, analytical, and leadership skills. With a limited number of seats—particularly in the PGDM course—the students who have a good academic record with relevant entrance scores and perform impressively in the interviews are selected more. On the whole, GIBS maintains a balanced admissions policy for management education, considering the merit as well as the personality fit.

GIBS Business School considers the overall CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and GMAT scores for the admission of candidates in the PGDM and MBA programs. Rather than using solely high cut-offs, the entrance test scores are used to judge the aptitude of a candidate in terms of analysis, quant, and verbal for management education at GIBS. Candidates meeting the qualifying cut-off based on their scores would be short-listed for the next stage of selection, which would consist of a Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI). The selection list will be prepared on composite merit considering the following factors: entrance test score, academic performance, communication skills, leadership qualities, and overall personality, hence on equal footing with fresh graduates and working professionals for success in management.
