In my experience, classes are structured well, so I focus properly during lectures and complete assignments on time. I don't keep work pending. That really helps during exams. For placements, preparation starts early here. We regularly have aptitude practice, mock interviews, presentations, and soft skills sessions. Because it's part of our routine, I never felt like I had to suddenly start preparing at the last minute.Along with that, I also take part in club activities and events. Honestly, those activities helped me improve my confidence and communication skills. I usually manage extracurriculars after classes or during event days, without affecting my studies.

It's basically an alternate route for students who may not have strong entrance scores but are still genuinely interested and capable. The process is almost the same — you still have to go through interviews, screening, and discussions. One thing I noticed as a student is that GIBS doesn't compromise on the quality part just because someone comes through management quota. They still make sure the person has clarity, confidence, and the right mindset for the PGDM environment. It just gives more flexibility for students who want to join but don't want to depend solely on exams.

First, your attendance percentage At GIBS Business School, attendance is taken seriously because the programme is very practical and skill-based.If you miss lectures, skills sessions, or assessments regularly, it can affect you in a few ways. First, your attendance percentage may go down, and you may not be allowed to sit for exams if it falls below the required limit. Second, you may miss important internal marks, presentations, or practical activities, which can reduce your overall score.Skills sessions are especially important at GIBS because they focus on personality development, communication, and placement training. Missing them means you may lose learning opportunities that help in placements.Occasional genuine absence is understandable, but regular absence can affect your marks, exam eligibility, and overall performance. So it's always better to attend regularly and stay active.

When I applied, CAT was just one part of the whole selection and a lot also depended on the GD/PI, communication, clarity about why PGDM, and overall attitude.I've seen classmates with very different score ranges getting selected because GIBS looks more at potential and how you present yourself rather than just the number. So even if your CAT score isn't too high, it doesn't close the door — they genuinely focus on the student, not just the percentile.

CAT and MAT scores do matter for scholarships at GIBS, but it's not like only toppers or super high percentile students get considered. It's competitive for sure, but the good part is GIBS looks at the overall profile — not just one exam number. So if someone has decent CAT/MAT scores plus good academics, participation, or even strong interview performance, they still have a fair shot. In my batch I've seen people with mid-range MAT scores also getting some scholarship benefit, so it's not limited to the top 1%. I feel GIBS keeps it student-friendly that way. It's competitive but not impossible, and if you perform well in entrance + GDPI + academics, it honestly works in your favour.
