Post Graduate Medical Education and Research Institute, being one among the government institutions, does not offer specific scholarships to its students. However, the students may reap the benefits from various government-sponsored scholarships or financial aids, which are generally applied for medical students in India. Central Government Scholarships For students who belong to economically disadvantaged families who are very bright academically, National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is sanctioned. PMSSS (Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme) for the students of Jammu & Kashmir. The scholarships to SC/ST students are set of various governmental schemes in support of the financially weaker sections. State Government Scholarships The West Bengal State Scholarships: They are, maybe, a privilege of West Bengal students eligible to apply for different scholarships statewide at the higher education stage.Medically Related Scholarships: Some private institutions and charities award scholarships purely for medical students based on merit, financial need, or in appreciation of community service. This type is either state or central government, so students at IPGMER can apply for these scholarships or cleanup at the school's administrative office for available information or consultations concerning intended scholarships.
