The Manipal School of Architecture & Planning was absorbed by Bangalore University in 1980 and renamed the Department of Architecture. Later, in October 2003, MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) renamed the department the Faculty of Architecture, which was later renamed Manipal School of Architecture & Planning (MSAP) in April 2018.
