Civil branch placement at MNIT is great on the behalf of percentage of students sitting for placements. L&T, Saint gobin, ACC cements and many more renowned companies visit here to hire meritorious students. On the other hand, people have equal chances to get placement in marketing and business analyst field in Deloitte, JP Morgan like companies.
The placement percentage mentioned on the site is less this is because the number of students sitting for placement is less. As Jaipur is a good city and an education hub in North with renowned coaching institutes here like Made Easy, T.I.M.E., Engineers Academy and many more institutions for preparation of GATE, IES, IAS, CAT, GRE etc. 50% students opt MNIT due to this only reason that they can get coaching here and performance of students tell this story too. If you have a mass media driven perspective, IIM looks fancier and more useful. If you have really like technology or science, M.Tech might make more sense to you. As we are not at the stage of rewarding innovators in India, you might not get a good company for research in India, but then the wheel of time moves on and you never know you would get tremendous opportunities in India by the time you pass out. Now, let your instinct tell you what you want from life.

If you are aiming for UPSC then I would suggest you to opt for DTU as ECE/EE branch in DTU is an evergreen branch with an overwhelming response from its students in innovation/placement. Also, you will get sufficient time to prepare for UPSC.
