What should I do? My WBJEE rank is 50321, 65.4% in class 12th and my SC certificate rank is 3291.

I would suggest you to go with what you think you can do like if you think you are passionate about engineering then you may go for a drop and prepare again with all your efforts and if you think that you gave your100% this time then you may join any private colleges which are there like VIT, BITS, SRM, JECRC,etc. and complete your engineering.

Let me tell you that mechanical engineers are needed everywhere as everywhere manufacturing is required and even in now a days of hightech robots even they need mechanical systems to build their infrastructure. Also other sectors where mechanical engineer are there can be listed as railway, aerospace, petroleum, automotive, ceramic, fertilizer,and the list goes on. Also when you become a mechanical engineer you can have very diversified field to go like defense sector, private or government sector.

When you get around 15000 AIR ( All India Rank) you will surely get this college.

The second one is, take a drop & prepare with full focus for JEE again. If your financial condition is good then only choose this one.
Last option is to have a fresh look over your career prospective. Ask yourself if you are genuinely interested in Engineering. If you want to do only engineering job & will remain satisfied with it. If your answers are NO, then you can look at other career opportunities according to your interests & plus points.

see both are very good and reputed colleges. as u want to do mechanical then it doesn't matter whare it is from as both are highly reputed college. so I think whatever u ll get just grab it.
