For MBA you need to have a valid CAT scorecard. Without that you can not apply.

You can take any branch based upon your interest for example if you are very much interested in programming and coding then you must take either CS or IT or ECE but if you are very much into physics and recent technology in automotive then you may take mechanical engineering, on the other hand if you wish to do a job in construction or open up your own then you may take civil. Other branches which are very good to take are electrical, electronic, chemical.

You are on the borderline. You may get civil in Mnit. Exact prediction is quite difficult. So hope for the best.

Hello there,
There may be a chance of you getting MNIT but I am not very sure as most of the branches close around 20000 OBC rank. For further info about closing ranks of different branches and institutions please visit

I would suggest you to go with what you think you can do like if you think you are passionate about engineering then you may go for a drop and prepare again with all your efforts and if you think that you gave your100% this time then you may join any private colleges which are there like VIT, BITS, SRM, JECRC,etc. and complete your engineering.
