Yes definitely, you can go in space technology line as a lot of concepts which are applied in space engineering are at their very base mechanical in nature and as the basic concepts of Mechanical engineering like solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer are taught in mechanical engineering course in B.Tech level so you could easily get into advance topics of space engineering. Moreover ISRO takes mechanical engineering graduates every year so there is immense scope for Mechanical engineers in space engineering.

Hello Sohrab. To get admission in MNIT you need to appear in JEE Mains exam & get good rank. Rank is decided by the combination of Jee mains marks & marks obtained in 10+2 exam or any equivalent exam given in the list by CBSE. You can ask me for further clarifications.

I would definitely say that branch is all that matters as in the long run from where you did your engineering fades away what remains is that how good you are in your field hence I would suggest always take branch of your interest and future scope even if you have to compromise with the NIT.

I am sorry to disappoint you my friend but with the above mentioned score you may not get any decent government college but you can definitely get some other good private colleges like VIT, BITS, SRM etc for which you may apply. Also the placement in these colleges is quite good as almost all major recruiting companies of different branches visit these colleges.

My college, I.e. MNIT Jaipur is indeed a very good college to do your B.Tech as it is not only ranked among the top NITs but is also good in placements record. Last year, I.e.in 2014-2015 we had a track record of 100% placement for Mechanical, Computer Science and about 80-90% in other branches. The companies which visit our campus include top tech giants like Microsoft, Oracle etc.

You can definitely go for post graduation degree ,I.e. ms or m.tech either from India or abroad for doing aerospace engineering course specialization. Aerospace engineering involves the very basics of Machine Design, Heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics which are the very basic subjects of mechanical engineering so it would be a good degree to apply the learnings of your previous degree. Hii. For getting into MNNIT Allahabad you need to give jee mains and get 200+ marks in that.Further you need to have very good percentage in boards but if you are applying next year yhen board marks are being excluded from the rank process so you need to focus on mains and get marks around 231.

I am sorry to disappoint you but I don't think that you can get admission in our college as maximum cut off rank which goes for any branch is at minimal 45000 for OBC category hence you may not be able to get a seat in my college yet you may try for other good private colleges like SRM, VIT, BITS etc.
