For the Design Aptitude Test, there isn't much that you can do. The first and most important requirement is that you have a talent for design. The NID papers are designed in such a way that only those who have a creative side will be able to clear them.The question paper is a mix of creativity, general knowledge, and logical thinking. You need to be aware of the latest news and make it a habit to read the newspaper every day. After clearing that, you'll have to prepare for the studio test and the PI (personal interview). The studio test judges your material handling and creativity.You could be provided with any material, like clay, terracotta, cardboard, or anything else, and from a set of themes, you may have to design something of your choice. Since it is time-bound, you have to quickly and efficiently use the materials provided to you. The PI is where the faculty evaluates you in person. They may ask you about your hobbies, interests, etc.They may even ask you to dance if you're a dancer. If you have a history of artwork, you get to showcase it to them. Whatever you have done until now, be it a random doodle or sketch, bring it along. But make sure it's your work; otherwise, you may get caught, and it's not that difficult for them to do so. The National Institute of Design examination is divided into 2 phases.First, you have to fill out the Design Aptitude Test form which is generally available after October from the National Institute of Designs' official website, and then they will send you to admit card through the post.The first phase is the Design Aptitude Test examination. If you clear this exam then they will call you for the second phase which is the studio test, in this, you have to make models from any given material.And at last, you will be interviewed by the National Institute of Design examination with your portfolio (best of your drawing).If you clear these 2 phases then they will give you a merit rank on the base of your mark, and then counseling.

NID provides creation, design engineering, aesthetics, and product development, among other things whereas NIFT provides clothing textiles, garment construction, and style, among other things. In NID available disciplines are Animation, film design, garment design, ceramic and glass design, digital game design, communication design, furniture design, information design, graphic design, product design, and exhibition design whereas, NIFT provides Fashion design, leather design, accessory design, and fashion communication. NID courses will lead you to a specific job, whereas NIFT can help you to choose multiple job options.

The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad for the B.Des. in Graphic Design course entrance exam will be conducted in the month of January 2023.

Fee Structure: The total fee for a B.Des. in Graphic Design is INR 13,88,000 per year.
The first-year fee is INR 3,54,000 PA.
Second-Year fee: INR 3,444,000 PA.
Third-Year fee: INR 3,444,000 PA.
Final-Year fee: INR 3,44,000 PA.

Sir, the National Institute of Design does not have preferred NRI quota seats. Instead, it provides admission in the following categories:
1. General
2. General (EWS)
3. Scheduled Caste (SC)
4. Other Backward Class (OBC-NCL)
5. Scheduled Tribe (ST)
6. Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
Apart from that, it provides admission to 15% of seats under the Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category. For this quota, the applicant must be a citizen of a foreign country. These seats are available at the NID Ahmedabad and the NID Madhya Pradesh. According to the criteria, non-resident Indians (NRIs) who have Indian citizenship are not eligible to apply under this quota. If your nephew is also a US citizen, then he can apply for this quota. As an Indian citizen, your nephew can apply under the general quota for B. Des., provided he has passed or is appearing in Class 12 in the academic year 2021-22. You can sponsor his studies in general or in whichever subcategory he is eligible as an Indian citizen.

NID that Entrance Syllabus for prelims include topics like Drawing fundamentals, Innovation in design, Theme development, Exercises on imagination, Graphics & pictograms, Principles of composition, Design theory, etc. So there is no any relation between CET and NID that exam syllabus. Please prepare separately.

The following facilities are provided at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.
1. Courses: There are around eight specializations offered in the Bachelor of Design. In the Master of Design, around seven specializations are provided.
2. Hostel facilities: Separate, well-maintained hostels for boys and girls. The college has a student mess committee to oversee the quality of the mess food.
3. The campus is situated near the Sabarmati river and has lush green infrastructure. The college has Wi-Fi-enabled infrastructure. It also has a canteen, a gym, and a canteen. A separate guest house for parents' stay is also available at NID.
4. Events and extracurricular activities : There are occasional celebrations such as Chitrakatha and Alpavirama to provide a platform to explore the creative side of students. Apart from that, many socio-cultural events are organized by the student activity committee.
5. Students can get medical help 24/7 a week, and the college also offers psychological counseling.
