The basic eligibility criteria that students must fulfil to avail Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students are given below:
- The applicant must be above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12 or equivalent.
- The applicant must be pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses.
- The applicant must be pursuing courses at colleges/institutions recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned.
- The applicant must not be availing the benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State-run scholarship schemes/ fee waivers & reimbursement schemes.
- The gross parental/family income of the applicant should not exceed ?4,50,000 per annum.
- For renewal of scholarship in each year of study, besides getting at least 50% marks in the Annual Examination, maintenance of adequate attendance of at least 75%, will also be the criteria.
The overall cost of NID Ahmedabad is INR 13.18 lakh. The MDes fees might include mutiple other fee components that must be paid during admission. Admission to MDes is based on NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT). Therefore, candidates must register for the exam and pay the NIT DAT application fee. The application fee is tabulated below:

Placements: Yes, there is a placement cell at NID Paldi campus. It works good for a few disciplines but not for all. Reason being both placements and internships take place simultaneouly. So, the seriousness is not as much. Apart from it, not all the interest areas are satisfied. For instance, students interested in crafts hardly find companies facilitating their interest. Placements: One of the best in a country with the companies from every field coming to take the placement. The demand for the design student is increasing day by day since the number of student passing out is always the same, but that number of companies visiting the campus is always increasing year by year.
Placements: The placements here are pretty decent at NID. It also depends on how good a student is in creative thinking, communication skills and of course a good portfolio. Here, companies like Microsoft, Samsung, MTV, Sony, etc., come to recruit. Almost everyone finds their desired companies here.
Placements: The placements are quite decent for an undergraduate from NID. The students of animation film design get the offers from various companies like Samsung, Disney, Cartoon Network, etc. Almost 80 percent of the students get recruited during the campus placements. It also depends on how good the students are in terms of strong visualization and communication skills.
