There are a total of 93 seats in the PGIMER BSc nursing (Hons.) programme. General category candidates have 47 seats, SC category candidates have 14 seats, ST category candidates have 07 seats, OBC category candidates have 25 seats, and PwBD category candidates have 5 seats in all. It is a 4 year course. Please note that reservation to PwBD candidates is given on horizontal basis and as per Govt. of India guidelines revised from time to time. So, the number of seats mentioned for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) will be adjusted against the category to which he / she belongs.

No, one cannot take admission to any other university or institution by clearing the PGIMER BSc Nursing exam as no other institute or university accepts PGIMER BSc Nursing scores. Selected candidates will be invited for the counselling process after the exam. No individual intimation is sent to unselected candidates, and no correspondence on the subject is entertained.

Yes, it is mandatory for the applicants to appear separately for the PGIMER BSc Nursing exam because NEET-UG score will not be aceepted by PGIMER, Chandigarh for the BSc nursing programme. PGIMER BSc Nursing exam is a gateway for admission into BSc nursing course and the candidates should have passed class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. A separate counselling will be conducted by PGIMER for grating admission to candidates on the basis of the merit scored in the entrance exam.

The counselling for PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme is being conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Candidates are required to be present for the counselling process and formalities at the pre-mentioned time and location. There will tentatively be four rounds of counselling. The round-1 counselling concluded in September 2024 first week. It is mandatory to present a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for the verification on the day of PGIMER nursing 2024 counselling.

As per the guideline issued, incomplete applications will not be considered, and no correspondence will be entertained in this matter. All particulars in the application form must be entered carefully. All claims made in the application must be supported with documentary proof.

The exam date will be announced through official notification by the PGIMER, Chandigarh at the official website, pgimer.edu.in. As per the guidelines issued by the exam conducting body, students must not be more than 25 years of age and should not be less than 17 years on 1st September, 2025. Hence, applicants born after 01.09.2007 and before 01.09.1999 are not eligible to apply for the course. For the BSc Nursing course (4 years), only FEMALE students are eligible to apply within this age bracket.
