The PGIMER admission process is based on the entrance score. Applicants must complete Class 12 with relevant aggregate scores for admission to UG courses. Applicants must also hold a valid score in the INICET examination for MD/ MS/ MCh/ DM. INICET is conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi. Application Process 2026
Eligible students must apply online through the website of PGIMER. The application has to be filled in properly and then submitted with documents and application fees.
Selection & Counselling Process 2026
Selection is done on the basis of INICET/ PGIMER entrance exam depending on the course. Eligible students are then called for the counselling round as per their rank. Aside from the entrance tests, students also need to clear the basic eligibilitty requirements of each course. The INICET Cutoff 2026 ranged from 23 - 11531 for MD in General Medicine and MD in Microbiology.
Seat Allocation and Verification of Documents
After the counselling round, candidates need to accept the allotted seat online. Seat allocation is totally based on candidates' All India rank, preference course filled and availability of seats.
The last process includes 'Reporting & Submission of Documents/ security deposit' which needs to be completed within the deadline given by PGI Chandigarh.
