PSG offers a 2-year M.Sc in one specialization applied Mathematics and a 5-year Integrated M.Sc. in four specializations: Data Science, Cyber Security, Software Systems, and Theoretical Computer Science.
Cyber Security is a specialized field in Information Technology (IT), which is regarded as a substream in Computer Science. The Cyber Security courses aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to defend computer operating systems, networks, and data from cyber-attacks.
Cyber Security as a profession is evolving over the years, the reason being the increasing rate of cybercrime. Any industry that transacts online or carries sensitive data is in need of a cyber security professional to safeguard its data from such delinquents. With cyberspace being a common platform that can be accessed by anyone from every corner of the world, the scope of cybersecurity is equally spread across the globe.
For cyber security, candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 from any recognized board in Mathematics and Physics.
Selection Criteria
The final selection of candidates is done on the basis of an online test conducted by the institute based on HSC Mathematics followed by an interview.
Cutoff: 32-536 for general candidates.

Candidates interested in pursuing the course are required to meet the following minimum eligibility criteria: A minimum aggregate score of 55% at both higher and senior secondary levels (classes 10th and 12th) completed from a recognised educational board. Also, candidates should have completed the senior secondary level (class 12th) in the science stream, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% in PCM (physics, chemistry, mathematics) or PCB (physics, chemistry, biology).
