The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) is accorded Autonomous status by VTU, Belagavi and UGC, New Delhi in the year 2007. The state of the art Physical infrastructure has been established in order to promote a congenial academic environment to impart quality education. The curriculum help the students to gain the knowledge and skills in the areas of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Functional areas of management, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management and Quantitative Models for decision making apart from basic engineering knowledge and skills with emphasis on overall personality development. Both colleges are good in every aspects. It depends on your choice of programme basically, if you are more towards computer Science then you can prefer CSE at Vellore else if you more interested in ECE then go for RV. The Department's main objective is to create expertise in specialised areas in aerospace engineering such as aerospace structural design, Aerodynamics, propulsion systems & control systems with focus on research and innovation. Placements: The placements are very good in RVCE especially for the departments like CSE, ECE and ISE with the highest package this year being about Rs. 27 LPA.
