RV College of Engineering is a private college. RVCE Bangalore is a private technical college that was established in 1963 and is approved by AICTE. In addition to this, it has also been accredited by NBA. RVCE is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University. RV College of Engineering was ranked 96 for BTech by NIRF in 2023.

RV College of Engineering offers programmes like BTech, M.Tech and MCA. Admission to these courses is entrance based and each programme needs the aspiring candidates to follow different processes for admission. For the B.Tech programme offered at RV College of Engineering the candidates need 

  1. Class 10: Minimum of 70% aggregate marks with a minimum of 70% in Science and Mathematics subjects separately.

  2. Class 11: Minimum of 65% aggregate marks with a minimum of 65% in Mathematics and Physics subjects separately.

  3. Class 12: Minimum of 60% aggregate marks with a minimum of 60% in Physics and Mathematics subjects separately.

Selection Criteria: CET, COMEDK, JEE Main, KEA

For the Mtech programme candidates need A pass in BE/BTEch or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST candidates)

Selection Criteria: PGCET/ GATE/ College-level entrance exam. 

For MCA programme candidates need Class 12 with 50%.

Q:   Is RV College of Engineering good for BTech?

A: 

The total tuition fee for the BTech programme at RV College of Engineering ranges between INR 3.34 lakh - INR 44 lakh. The median package secured in 2022 was INR 10 LPA whereas the highest package secured after the completion of the BTech programme in 2023 was INR 62 LPA. Considering the total cost of tuition and the package secured this seems to be a great return on the investemnt.
