RV College of Engineering has good academic reputation and you should accept admission here if you are getting it. RVCE Aerospace This Department was started in the year 2015 to offer UG programme in Aerospace Engineering with an approved intake of 60. Imparting quality education in Aerospace Engineering with emphasis on research, sustainability technologies and entrepreneurship for societal Symbiosis has been the primary motive behind starting this new programme. The Department's main objective is to create expertise in specialised areas in aerospace engineering such as aerospace structural design, Aerodynamics, propulsion systems & control systems with focus on research and innovation. Placements: The placements are very good in RVCE especially for the departments like CSE, ECE and ISE with the highest package this year being about Rs. 27 LPA. You can also expect some more companies for placements. The college has been placed at the 49th overall rank by MHRD.

RVCE is better
1. Ranking: Both the colleges are quite the same when it comes to ranking. But if you are particularly looking for chemical engineering department, I would say please consider MSRIT as well. Chemical engineering department is government aided there and has much better facilities. BMS has more recognition in US compared to RVCE.
2. Placements: If you want to get placed in a core company. Any of the three college- RVCE/ BMS/ MSRIT is good. Almost all the companies visit these three colleges. And there are companies who pay more to a student from BMS or MSRIT than one from RVCE. ( I am placed at IBM and was offered a package less than what it offered MSRIT for the same post). If you want to get placed in a core chemical company then it doesn't matter which college you are from because most of the core companies keep a pool campus placements where all the three colleges chemical students undergo selection together. And all the three colleges are also visited by core companies privately as well, with not much difference in the number of companies. And if you are good enough you will get placed anyway irrespective of the college. Believe me, this is true.
3. Time v/s Value: I am not sure about the other colleges but here in my college, RVCE, there is no value for student's time. You will have to spend a whole day running here and there even to get a small sign and the rules are dreadful.
4. Staff: What are the things you hate about RVCE college staff? This link sums it all about RVCE staff. Though there are 0.01% faculty who are sensible and who know what they are speaking.
5. Research: The RnD at RVCE is only on papers and if anyone happened to enter the RnD department, that person would get a heart attack seeing the condition of it. Rats would have eaten half of the cables. What ever is left is either not in a working condition or is out of limits ( yes, few professors claim it is their property ). And don't even think they will get it fixed. The Lacs together worth equipment just stay their for years and years together till they are thrown away ( even though it has a very small problem) because the faculty members believe it is a very long and tiresome process to approach the college and get it fixed, so just * with the hard work. RVCE is ranked no.1 in karnataka (excluding NITK) according to the KCET & COMEDK cutoff makes the student first choice ,is known for its Placement which is at par with NIT Surathkal for Circuit branches (like-CS/IT, ECE , EEE , EIE ,TE etc.).But for the core branches (like-MECH,CIVIL,CHEM,IEM & Production) comes just next to the Nitk. Related to the faculty and research,it is growing year by year.The college campus provides a lot of extracurricular activities in the form of Clubs, debate societies etc.In a Summary, the college is excellent for study an engineering course for a student interested and dedicated in this field.

Institute of Technology has shown a phenomenal growth and emerged as the best college for engineering education in Karnataka.Excellent administration, quality faculty and students, phenomenal placements and results along with an exuberance exuded by everyone on campus has helped it scale such heights.PES has some good professors and many of them are undertaking research work on or off the campus. This helps students in doing R&D themselves or with them. This also helps in placement or if you wanna study abroad.

Both exams are different in the following ways:
More competition in KCET, compared to COMEDK.
Tough COMEDK, easier to get a good rank, whereas the opposite is true for KCET.
COMEDK colleges more expensive than KCET (this is because COMEDK has more private affiliation) [53,460 (KCET seat) and 1,83,600 (COMEDK seat)]
Reservations for SC/ST/OBC high in KCET, more seats for GEN in COMEDK.
Outsiders not allowed to write KCET, whereas COMEDK is all-India EE.
Keeping the above points in mind, let's look at the cutoffs.
Generally, the closing rank in KCET for RVCE:
Civil: 3354
CSE: 573
ECE: 798
EE: 622
ME: 584
Now, COMEDK for RVCE:
Civil: 3199
CSE: 180
ECE: 390
EE: 732
ME: 829
From the above tables, we can suppose that KCET which see a number of applicants higher than that of COMEDK, but yet latter has a similar cut off as KCET but for less number of candidates. Although one can't exactly tell what should be your rank to be able to get a seat in RV college of engineering as the last year cutoffs can't exactly predict your chances as the cutoffs are based on so many factors so it isn't ever constant.
But to be on safe side, its best if you have:
Civil: 2500 (COMEDK), 2700 (KCET)
CSE: 150 (COMEDK), 300 (KCET)
ECE: 300 (COMEDK), 300 (KCET)
EE: 600 (COMEDK), 500 (KCET)

Talking of Mechanical Engineering:
Thanks to the reservation system, it depends on your caste. If you're from SC/ST, a rank of somewhere around 200 would be enough. If you belong to the OBC categories then a rank of around 100150 would do. Here comes the big one!

RVCE is the best option for CSE it has a great diversity and easily you can get into a reputed post graduate university and student life is as other colleges. Placements: Placement percentage is well above 95% in Computer Science and engineering. The highest Package is CTC 50 LPA. Top Recruiters : Microsoft, Samsung R&D, Goldman Sachs, Arcesium, Atlassian, Cisco, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan & Chase, Expedia, Amazon, Schindler, Bosch, Visa,. Infrastructure: Entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Provided Wi-Fi is secure. Labs are adequate and have all essential hardware and software. Classrooms are spacious enough. Library has sufficient titles. There is scope for more books on general topics. Sports facilities are excellent. Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well versed with their courses. They deliver the courses with good amount of preparedness. Assignments and Projects are given in order to help students in professional development.
