I would suggest NIT-Suratkal. You must have used your first year to find out a broad field of interest and your second to find topics which you are passionate about. For this, use the internet or talk to your seniors and batch mates. Once you are at this stage, find out which of your seniors/batchmates are working on the same topic and ask for help to start off.

In case you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if your try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech Aerospace. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12 marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12 or JEE or even during the course. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements. Hi Yukta, There is no chemical engineering course in MIT-Pune. It is offered in their sister branch at Alandi (AKA MIT AOE). In their main branch of Kothrud, Pune they offer petrochemical and petroleum engineering which is a very good option. RVCE is an ultimate college in terms of placements. Now, I guess there is no point of comparison if you are talking about the main branch of MIT-Pune. All the best.
