You can get into SSN in three (main) ways-the regular Anna University counseling, management quota and sports quota. There are also other scholarships that SSN offers like rural scholarships, walk in walk out scholarships etc. which don't fall under the aforementioned categories.Anna University counseling : this is predominantly for students who have studied in Tamil Nadu state board as the cut off is very high for CBSE or ISC board students. The cut off is around 195–197/200 (maybe higher). It is calculated by: (math mark on hundred) + (average of physics and chemistry marks on hundred).Management Quota: A few students can get in through this. This is predominantly for CBSE or ISC students. The students are given a +5 to their mark on 200 (calculated in the same process as mentioned previously). The cutoff is 195 (with the plus five) or around 190 (without plus five). It can be higher. This is the cutoff for the first round of counseling. The third and fourth rounds can sometimes go as low as 185/200 but the chances of one getting their preferred group on such rounds are slim. In addition to the cutoff, students will be required to take an aptitude test and attend an interview (with additional interviews for their extra curricular activities or sports achievements) where they can produce certificates they have won in the past.Sports Quota : This is the earliest mode of admission and requires candidates to go for selections in the end of May or early June. Candidates also require a decent academic cut off around 180/200.
