To be able to pursue MBA, you need to first complete graduation in Bachelors degree. As your focus is on MBA, I would suggest you to opt for BBA. You can also opt for Integrated courses like B.Com+MBA or BBA+MBA. There are hundreds of good colleges providing those degrees. All it depends is from where do you wish to pursue these courses.
Any. choice should be his keeping in mind the subjects taught in the courses and his inclinations towards which subjects to study. M.com give dept knowledge of commerce while mba touch variety of subjects. it shold also depend on what career is he looking at. or if would also like to go for phd. the subject choice needs focus on all these direction.
MBA in finance would give you a better exposure in private sector. It can provide you much better job opportunities with high salary package.
MBA after BCom is a very good career option. Finance specialisation will be ideal for B Com graduates and open wide options for you.
MBA is a specialization in business administration. If you have an interest in this field, then pursuing MBA from any college after B.Com is a wise decision. We do have people in our batch who have come directly after completing B.Com.

In place of pursuing MBA through distance along with Diploma in economics, you can opt for regular MBA and Diploma in economics in a deemed university. You don't need to attend the classes too.
You can do MBA in fashion after B.Com. The eligibility criteria for the same is graduation with 50% marks.

There are other options like CFA which is difficult and costly as well but has very good scope for Finance

In my view, B.Com and than MBA in Finance is good option. In B.Com you will already gain the basic knowledge of Finance like basics of accounting/costing/taxation. MBA also covers the same thing in business perspective. You will have numerous number of opportunities after MBA, whereas MCA will be more of technical field.
