MAT registration process for October 2022 IBT exams started today. Any candidate who has completed graduation or is in the final year of a bachelor's degree course can fill the MAT application form 2022. The MAT exam fee is INR 1,850. 

The MAT application process, eligibility criteria and fees for all three modes are same. Candidates have to only select the preferred exam mode in the MAT application form. Read all about MAT registration and application process 2022 below. 

September 2022 phase MAT exams are over for all the modes. The last session was conducted on September 18. 

MAT exam is conducted multiple times in a year and in three modes–Paper Based Test (PBT), Computer Based Test (CBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT). Candidates can choose to appear in one or two modes of the MAT exam. Performance in the latest attempt will be considered for admission.

MAT Application Process 2022: How to Apply?

MAT application form 2022 is available on the official website of AIMA. The process of MAT registration for IBT, PBT and CBT mode comprises five steps as mentioned below:

Step 1-MAT Online Registration 

  • Visit the official website of AIMA MAT: https://mat.aima.in/sep22/register-online
  • Enter details such as Name, Phone Number, Email ID, Date of Birth and set a password
  • Confirm details and click on submit button
  • An OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number
  • Verify phone number using the OTP
  • New login will be sent on your email

Step 2-Payment of Application Fees

  • Log in by clicking on “Login” button
  • Click on fee payment option
  • Make fee payment

Step 3-Selection of MAT test centres and exam mode

  • Candidates can choose up to two cities as their MAT 2022 exam centre location

  • Select your nearest cities as your preferred choices for the test centre

  • The allotted test centre will be mentioned on your MAT 2022 admit card

  • For MAT IBT mode select 'Test City' from the drop down

Step 4-Upload Photo and Signature

Next, upload scanned copy of your passport size photograph and signature as per the following specifications for MAT exam registration:

Documents Required for MAT Registration

Before filling MAT application form, candidates must keep the following documents by their side:

  • Graduation marksheet

  • Class 12th marksheet 

  • Class 10th marksheet

  • Date of birth certificate

  • Credit card/debit card/internet banking details

Filling MAT Application Form 2022: Key Points

  • Candidates must enter personal details like name, age, gender, phone number, educational qualifications, email, etc. correctly

  • Candidates must check the MAT 2022 eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Applications of candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria will be rejected.

  • In case you wish to edit any information, do it before final submission. There is no provision of form correction in MAT.

  • MAT application fee is non-refundable. So, Check the information entered in the MAT application form before final submission. 

MAT Application Form: Mistakes to Avoid 

  • Avoid spelling error in the name while filling in MAT registration form. It should be as per the official document only.

  • Check the status of fee payment after paying the fee to ensure the application process is complete.

  • Details such as email ID, phone number and address must be valid and accurate for smooth communication.

  • Upload scanned image and signature as per the dimensions specified to avoid error.

  • Do not make any error in filling the MAT application form as there is no provision of editing after submission.

How to recover password for MAT login, if forgotten?

In case you forget password for MAT registration 2022, then you can obtain it by following the steps given below:
  • Click on the link 'forgot password?' in the MAT login window
  • Provide e-mail address, mobile number, date of birth, etc. required to identify your application details
  • A link will be sent on the registered e-mail address, click on the link to recover your password for MAT 2022

Q: Is there a difference between CBT, PBT and IBT modes of MAT?

A: The major difference between MAT CBT and PBT mode exams is that in CBT mode, candidates take the exam on a computer system while in PBT mode, candidates have to take the test on a print out of question paper and OMR answer sheet. The IBT mode test can be taken from home on a computer system. 

Q: What is the last date of MAT registration 2022 of CBT/IBT/PBT modes?

A: Registration deadlines for MAT 2022 PBT is August 29 and for CBT it September 12. For MAT IBT exams, the last date to apply is September 13. Candidates need to apply before the deadline to ensure their admit card is issued. MAT October IBT registration has started and the last date to apply is October 7.

Q: I am in my final year of graduation; can I apply for MAT 2022 exam?

A: Yes, candidates in their final year of graduation (any stream) can apply for MAT exam. However, they will not be allowed admission unless they produce marksheet and passing certificate.

Q: What is registration fee for MAT PBT mode exam, CBT mode exam and IBT mode?

A: The registration fee for MAT PBT/CBT/IBT mode exam is INR 1,850. However, if candidates register for both PBT and CBT mode, in that case they need to pay INR 2,950. The fee is to be paid online.

Q: Can I purchase MAT application form offline?

A: MAT application forms are available in online mode only. The candidates can fill the form on the AIMA-MAT website by creating an account on the official website by furnishing basics information such as name, date of birth, email ID and mobile phone number.

Q: If I opt both PBT and CBT mode exam will I get two MAT admit cards?

A: Yes. Test takers will be issued separate MAT admit cards for Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test. Candidates must present the relevant MAT admit card at the exam centre to gain entry.

Q: What are the documents required for MAT registration process?

A: Applicants need to upload at the time of application submission, a passport size photograph (not less than 50 KB and not less than 100 KB) and digital signature (not less than 10 KB and not more than 25 KB).

Q: How can I pay my MAT registration fee online?

A: Test takers can pay the MAT application fee online through credit card/ debit card or net banking. The fee receipt will be generated online and will be sent as email and SMS.

Q: Will MAT application fee be refunded if I don't take the exam?

A: No. MAT application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. Thus, the candidates must not apply for fee refund. The candidates must avail the opportunity to appear in the exam.

Q: How many test center can I select for MAT exam?

A: Each test taker gets a chance to select up to two exam cities in the MAT application form. The candidates must select cities based on their preference in terms of least distance from home. The examination authority will strive to allot an exam centre to the candidate in the city marked as first preference.

Q: How many MAT participating colleges can a test taker select while registration?

A: Candidates can select up to five participating colleges in MAT 2022 form where they want to take admission. AIMA will send their MAT scorecards to these colleges directly for preparing admission shortlist and sending PI invite to aspirants.
