GATE scores are accepted by German institutions. Your academics are good but a higher percentage in B.Tech would somehow have been better. None the less, apply. Take the IELTS too. Besides the GATE score and your B.Tech percentage, universities will also check your internship quality, projects, research, patents if any, publications etc. It's a highly competitive process in Germany. It's interesting proposition which you are making. Yes, there are many students who follow this route of getting success rather than going to the syllabus and understanding the subjects.
