The answer is both yes & no. It is possible to get IIT Tirupati admission without the GATE entrance examination, but in other courses than MTech. A student can enter into IIT Tirupati via JEE Advanced or IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test) for BTech & MSc. So, if the dream is just to enter into IITs, there are various courses one can pursue except for MTech. However, admission to IIT Tirupati for the M.Tech programme is subject to a valid GATE score followed by <a href="https://www.shi...
GATE is not mandatory for all MTech colleges in Hyderabad. While top government colleges and NITs require a valid GATE score, many private colleges in Hyderabad accept TS PGECET scores or offer direct admission based on BTech marks and personal interviews. However, having a good GATE score gives you access to better colleges, lower fees, and the added benefit of a government stipend during the course. So while it is not compulsory everywhere, cracking GATE is always the smarter move.

XAT I suppose, is the toughest of all and when it comes to ATMA CMAT and MAT can be considered the easiest exams which come with the slightest complications. All you need is to have basic quantitative understanding and then, you can easily crack any of these with much of effort.

With a rank of 140403 in the JEE Main, getting admission into the ECE or IT branch at NSUT or DU is extremely improbable. The cut-offs for these branches in 2024 were much lower, with the ECE cutoff being about 21184 and the IT cutoff being about 12421 for the OBC category. Your rank surpasses these cut-offs, and it might be hard to get a seat. But you can try other engineering colleges with lower cutoffs or look at other branches that may still be open during counseling.
