No, students do not need to apply separately at IIT Ropar site after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees. All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Ropar by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online. You can admission in IIT, Kharagpur and IIT, Roorkee by giving this exam. It is an architecture aptitude test which conducted by 7 IITs but admission you can get only in Khargpur and Roorkee but before that you need to clear JEE Advanced exam as well. If you are able to clear that exam then only you will be able to give AAT. You can't get admission for architecture course without giving this exam. You can go for B.Tech by clearing only JEE Advanced and clearing the college's cut off.
All the best!
