Yes, you surely can but you need to refer the JEE preparation textbooks. JEE portion is a little advanced from our CBSE portion. So doubts will surely arise but you can take help of Internet tutorials or guides. Even the students who take special coachings for IIT JEE preparation, self study for better understanding.

Yes, you can do it from the very first day of your engineering. First of all, take out the latest syllabus of GATE according to your branch and then find out which subject came in which semester. Then, focus on these subjects in every semester and always read standard books on these subjects.

Candidates are suggested to ensure that name of the subject on the screen is the same as per their admit card. If candidates faces any issue or in case of any discrepancy candidates need to inform invigilators immediately. Notably, candidates must attempt subjects as per their choice in the application, and they are suggested to take proper care of this point. As once printed on the candidates issued admit card the subject will not be changed.
