WBJEE 2025 result date is expected to be announced anytime soon online at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. The scores obtained in the entrance examination will be available through the WBJEE 2025 result. The result will be downloadable in the form of the WBJEE 2025 rank card. The authorities will also release the final WBJEE 2025 answer key online. The authorities will prepare the final answer key after checking all of the objections submitted against the provisional key. WBJEE 2025 OMR images and response sheets are available online. Candidates can check their responses through the WBJEE OMR images and response sheets 2025. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the WBJEE 2025 counselling process. Allotment will be done based on the candidate's WBJEE/JEE Main rank, preferences, category and seat availability.

Q:   When will the final WBJEE answer key be released?
A: 

Yes. The authorities will release the final WBJEE 2025 answer key online. Candidates will be able to access the final answer key at wbjeeb.nic.in without any credentials. The correct answers to the question paper will be available on the final answer key of WBJEE 2025. The authorities will prepare the final WBJEE answer key after thorough post-examination internal verification and checking the objections submitted by the candidates. It is to be noted that no objections against the final answer key will be accepted by the authorities. The final answer key will be used by the authorities while preparing the WBJEE 2025 result.

Q:   Are WBJEE toppers announced?
A: 

Yes. The authorities of WBJEEB are expected to announced the list of WBJEE 2025 toppers. The list of the top rankers in the entrance examination will be released through a press conference. In the previous year examination, Kingshuk Patra secured the first rank. Shubhradeep Paul and Bibaswan Biswas secured the second and third rank, respectively.

Q:   Will WBJEE result and rank card be different?
A: 

No, the rank card and result of WBJEE 2025 will not be different. The WBJEE result will be declared in the form of rank cards. To download, candidates will have to log in at the official website using the required credentials. Once the candidates check their obtained scores and ranks in the WBJEE 2025 result, they will be able to download it in the form of rank card. It is to be noted that the rank card is an extremely important documents so the candidates will have to possess it until the end of the admission process. In case of any mistakes in the rank card, the authorities have to be immediately informed.

Q:   Can I appear for just WBJEE Paper 1? Will I be allotted a rank?
A: 

Candidates will be able to appear for just Paper 1 of WBJEE. However, these candidates will not be allotted ranks for admission by the authorities. Therefore, the candidates are advised to attempt both papers of WBJEE - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). The authorities will conduct WBJEE paper as a computer-based test.

Q:   What is WBJEE General Merit Rank?
A: 

WBJEE GMR is the General Merit List released by WBJEEB for admission to all the courses available in all enlisted Engineering and Technology Colleges and Universities within the state of West Bengal. The list will be prepared based on the candidate scores obtained in all the subjects (i.e. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in WBJEE 2025. Ranking in the GMR WBJEE merit list will be prepared in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects as stated above. However, there may also be ties and in such cases, the tie breaking rule shall be applicable for determining the merit rank.

Q:   Can I re-evaluate WBJEE result?
A: 

No, the authorities do not provide any facility to the candidates to re-evaluate their WBJEE result. The allotment of ranks is done as per the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination. In case there is a mistake in the information provided in the result, then the candidates can contact the authorities. However, the authorities will not accept requests for corrections in the allotted marks or ranks.

Q:   What are the steps to access the WBJEE result?

WBJEE 2025 answer key has been released online. The authorities have made the correct responses to the question paper available through the model answer key of WBJEE 2025. Candidates will be able to calculate their probable secured scores using the WBJEE answer key. Objections against the model WBJEE 2025 answer key were accepted until the final date, i.e., May 11, 2025. After the objections are checked, the final answer key will be released. The total calculated scores will be the probable scores secured in the entrance examination. Q:   What is the process to raise objections against the WBJEE answer key?
A: 

Candidates will be able to raise objections against the provisional WBJEE answer key. To challenge the provisional WBJEE answer key, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and password. The question that is to be challenged has to be selected and submitted. A fee of INR 500 per question also has to be paid. The submitted objections will be reviewed by the authorities. No further objections will be accepted after the board makes its decision.

What is WBJEE?

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level exam conducted by WBJEEB. The exam is a gateway for candidates seeking admission into B.Tech and B.Pharma courses at universities, government colleges and self-financing engineering & technical institutions in West Bengal. All candidates will have to qualify the entrance examination to be eligible for admission. However, JEE Main qualified candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria will also be able to register for the counselling and admission process.

Q:   Who will conduct WBJEE counselling?
A: 

The authorities of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will be responsible for the WBJEE counselling process. The details regarding how the WBJEE counselling will be held will be announced by the authorites on the official website. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all qualified candidates. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's obtained WBJEE rank, preferences and seat availability. JEE Main scores will also be taken into consideration for seat allotment.

Q:   Are there some specific eligibility criteria for WBJEE admission at Jadavpur University?
A: 

There are some specific eligibility criteria that the candidates will have to fulfill for WBJEE admission into Jadavpur University. The candidates should have passed 10+2th standard examination in the Science stream in the regular mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board with:

  • Individual pass marks (both in theory & practical/project wherever applicable) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Minimum of 60% marks in the above subjects taken together (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates) having 60% marks in Mathematics (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates) as well as pass marks in English with a minimum mark 30% (for all category of candidates) in the said qualifying examination. 
Q:   Is WBJEE application fee refundable if the candidate does not attempt the exam?
A: 

No.  The WBJEE application fee is not refundable to the candidates in any case. If the candidates fail to attempt the examination, then the application fee will not be open for refunds. Once the fee is paid, the candidates will not be able to request for a refund. WBJEE application fee has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.

Q:   What is the purpose of conducting WBJEE?

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) is conducted annually by the authorities to select eligible candidates for admissions into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes of the state. The entrance examination is created to assess the candidate's aptitude and knowledge to check if they are eligible for admission. WBJEE is an annual examination and the candidates have one attempt each year to qualify.

Marking Scheme

Category I - Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

Category II - Only one option is correct, the correct response yields two marks. An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.

Category III - One or more options may be correct. Only correct responses will yield 2 (two) marks. There is no negative marking.

Q:   How many attempts are allowed for WBJEE?
A: 

WBJEE is held as a one-day examination. The authorities conduct WBJEE annually to select candidates for BTech admissions into the participating institutes. The entrance examination is held once in a year and the candidates will not be given a second chance in the same year. If the candidates are not able to apply for WBJEE or have not secured the required scores, then they can apply for the entrance examination next year. The authorities will not accept any requests for change of WBJEE exam dates. 

Q:   How many examination zones will be available for WBJEE?
A: 

While filling out the application form, the candidates will have to select their preferred examination zone. There will be a total of 47 examination zones in the various cities of West Bengal. However, WBJEE will also be held in Silchar (Assam) and Agartala (Tripura). Candidates will have to select three zones in the order of preference for the allotment of WBJEE exam centre.

Q:   How many WBJEE seats are offered to JEE Main qualified candidates?
A: 

As per the official brochure, upto 10% of the approved seats in all Self-Financed Engineering and Technology colleges of West Bengal will be available for JEE Main qualified candidates through the WBJEE counselling process. The basic WBJEE eligibility criteria will also apply for the JEE Main qualified candidates. For admissions, the candidates will have to register for the WBJEE counselling process.

Q:   What is the age limit to appear for WBJEE?
A: 

Candidates will have to meet the age limit for WBJEE admission. If the candidates are unable to meet the age criteria, then they will not be considered for BTech admission into the participating institutes.

  • The lower age limit is 17 years old as on the admission year. There is no upper age limit for WBJEE.
  • However, for admission to the degree-level Marine Engineering course, the upper age limit is 25 years as on the admission year.

WBJEE 2025 Counselling

All qualified candidates will be required to participate in the WBJEE 2025 counselling process. During the WBJEE counselling, the candidates will have to register, fill out the form and select their choice of courses and colleges. It is to be noted that the selection of courses and colleges has to be done in order of preference. WBJEE 2025 seat allotment results will be announced online. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. All of the allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission by paying the seat acceptance fee and verifying their documents at their respective institutes. Three rounds of WBJEE counselling 2025 are expected to be held.

WBJEEB has not yet announced the WBJEE 2025 counselling dates. Candidates are advised to check the official schedule of WBJEE counselling 2025 so that they do not miss out on any important event. All qualified candidates will have to complete the WBJEE 2025 counselling registration process before the final date. After the final date, the authorities will not accept any requests from the candidates.

Q:   Which rank will be considered for WBJEE counselling? General rank or obc rank?
A: 
During the WBJEE counselling process, admissions will be done based on the candidate's rank obtained in the General Merit List. While the general rank will be considered for admissions, the cutoff will also be one of the deciding factors for the allotment of seats. WBJEE admission cutoff will be different for every category, college and course. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the previous years' cutoffs to know the trends. The opening rank and closing rank for admissions is released through the WBJEE cutoff.
Q:   Will I be considered for WBJEE counselling as I forgot to fill the choice of colleges?
A: 
No. All candidates are required to fill out their choice of colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to advance into the WBJEE seat allotment process if they have not selected their colleges and courses in the order of preference. All of the selection has to be done and submitted before the final date. Since WBJEE seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability, the candidates will have to carefully select their choices during the counselling process.
Q:   Which candidates are not eligible for the second round of WBJEE counselling?
A: 

There are certain candidates who will not be eligible to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Firstly, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference in Round 1 of WBJEE counselling will not be allowed to participate in the next rounds. Candidates who have not registered for the counselling process in the first round will also not be eligible for the second round. However, unregistered candidates will be able to register and fill out their choices for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling.

WBJEE 2025 syllabus has been released online. Through the WBJEE syllabus 2025, the candidates can check the subjects, units and topics that they will have to prepare for the examination. Q:   Shall I prepare any other topics apart from those mentioned in the WBJEE syllabus?
A: 
WBJEE syllabus cover more or less all the concepts in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics that have to be studied for the entrance examination. However, if possible, the candidates can prepare a few extra topics to have a higher understanding of the concepts and subjects. The authorities will prepare the question paper based on the syllabus of WBJEE. Most importantly, the candidates are advised to not stress too much and focus on the prescribed syllabus provided by the exam authorities.
Q:   Can I leave out some of the topics from the WBJEE syllabus?
A: 

During the preparation period, the candidates can refer to the previous years' WBJEE question papers to analyze the important topics and weightage given to each concept and subject. This will allow the candidates to understand which topics are important and cannot be missed out, and which topics have higher chances of being left out, and accordingly prepare. However, for higher chances of performing well in the exam and securing good scores, the candidates are advised to follow the official WBJEE syllabus.

Q:   Can I attempt WBJEE in Bengali?
A: 

Yes. As per the official WBJEE exam pattern, the candidates will be able to attempt the entrance examination in Bengali. Two language options will be provided to the candidates for the examination. Candidates will be able to attempt WBJEE in either English or Bengali. Since the question booklet will be available in both languages, the candidates will be required to let the invigilators know about their preference in the centre. No other medium of language will be used by the authorities. There will be no difference in the questions. 

Q:   Is WBJEE conducted in online or offline mode?
A: 

WBJEE is conducted offline as a pen and paper-based test. Candidates will have to report at the exam centres and answer the questions in an OMR paper. The WBJEE question paper consists of 155 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total duration of the examination is 4 hours. WBJEE question paper is divided into three categories: Category I (only one answer option is correct), Category II (only one answer option is correct) and Category III (one or more answer options are correct).

The official marking scheme is released through the WBJEE exam pattern. Candidates are advised to check the marking scheme to understand how their correct and incorrect answers will be marked by the authorities. 

  • Category I Questions - Each correct answer will be given one mark. An incorrect response will result in a loss of 1/4 mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will result in a loss of 1/4 marks.
  • Category II Questions - For every correct response, two marks will be given. An incorrect response will result in a loss of 1/2 marks. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 mark.
  • Category III Questions - Each correct response will be given two marks. There will be no negative marking.

WBJEE exam pattern outlines the details regarding how the entrance examination will be conducted by the authorities. WBJEE will be held as a pen-and-paper-based test. The total duration of the examination is 4 hours - 2 hours for Paper 1 (Mathematics) and 2 hours for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). The candidates will have to answer a total of 155 multiple-choice questions. In the paper, the questions are divided into three categories. Category I and II questions will have only one correct option while Category III questions will have one or more correct options. For every wrong answer in Category I and II, 1/4 mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking for Category III questions.

WBJEE 2025 application form was available online at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. Eligible candidates had to submit the online WBJEE application form before the final date i.e., February 23, 2025. All of the required details had to be filled out in the WBJEE application form 2025. Invalid and incomplete applications were not accepted. The candidates could follow the given steps to fill out the application form.

  • Step 1 - Registration: As a first step, the candidates had to visit wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee and click on the registration link. Next, the candidates had to provide the required credentials to complete the registration process. The application number was generated after the registration process was completed.
  • Step 2 - Filling out the form: After registration, the candidates had to fill out the application form with their personal, academic and contact details. Candidates also had to select their choice of WBJEE 2025 exam centres in order of preference. All of the details submitted had to be valid.
  • Step 3 - Uploading of Documents: Next, the candidates had to upload their scanned photographs and signatures as per the official specifications.

WBJEE was of 4 hours in duration and the candidates had to attempt two papers - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry).
