No, CAT and MAT syllabuses are almost same. MAT is easy. If you are preparing for CAT then no need of separate work for MAT. The syllabus is almost the same. I was also a student who prepared for CAT immediately after my graduation. The important things which you should look into while preparing for this exam are as follows:
1. Select one of the best coaching centers which offer quality education- TIME is one of the famous coaching centers for CAT.

Major difference between CAT and CMAT is of General Knowledge questions, CAT question paper does not include GK questions, on the other hand, CMAT has questions regarding GK, so you need to prepare for that additionally if appearing for CMAT for which you have to read daily newspaper and you can also refer Lucents general knowledge book. Other than that everything remains same and yes CMAT exam is quite easy then CAT paper, so you need not worry much regarding other things, if you are preparing hard for CAT you are definitely going to crack CMAT with a little preparation of GK, with a good score.

Hi,
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is "YES". CAT preparation won't be sufficient enough for GMAT and the same holds true if you are preparing for GMAT. This is because the intention to check on the areas are very different in both the exams. CAT tests your ability mainly on your 1- Quantitative abilities 2- Data Interpretation/ Logical Reasoning and 3- Verbal Ability. GMAT on the other side tests your, quant, Verbal, AWA, IR. You may think Quant and Verbal overlap in both but this isn't enough as the difficulty is not the same in both. Quant in CAT is at a higher level than GMAT. Similarly Verbal scores point in GMAT over q... View more

You can prepare for both simultaneously. Both the syllabuses for CAT as well as SBI-PO are more or less the same with little difference and preparation for CAT will automatically prepare you for SBI-PO. Just that the difficulty level of CAT is more as compared to PO exam and for PO you need to prepare G.K. and current affair.

XAT questions are on difficult side whereas CAT questions are easy to moderate level. Also, XAT has General Knowledge section and Decision making sections that are not covered in CAT syllabus.
Thus perpetration for one exam doesn't assure you are ready for other. But yes, the preparation of CAT will ensure a smooth road for XAT preparation and it would be easier.
