Yes, to a large extent, the syllabus is common. However, the format could be different. In my view you should focus on your B.Tech and only start preparing for MBA open test in your forth year. A sincere effort of 3 to 4 months is enough for open tests. Joining a institute which trains for MBA open tests is also a good option to enhance your chances to get a good score in open test.
Hello Ritesh,
Firstly, try to find where have you left portions in your preparation or which part is weak.
Make a list of all weak chapters and then study smartly.
Never think while studying that I already studied this chapter in previous year.
Never leave maths as many students think that it is too hard to do.
Don't waste time in joining coaching just purchase the package by coaching institute and then go for it.
Dear Bindia,
I would advise you to take a mock test before start preparing for CAT. This mock test helps you to determine the level at you are from where you need to start learning. However, the best time to start preparing for the CAT-GMAT is after the 3rd semester (provided how much time did you need). Being a physics student, the quantitative section could be easier for you. So put more stress on qualitative section also.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

If you are getting a good college for MBA then study MBA. If not, it would be wise to prepare for Bank and SSC. And since you have already done M.Com. It is not worth pursuing MBA if you don't get a good college.
