As early as you can.
You have 1 year in your hand before you get eligible to enrol for CAT.
If you start now, you will have no chance for loopholes.
You will get enough time to prepare for each section well.
Since CAT is a tough nut to crack.

You need not worry and panic. But keep yourself calm.
Take down the subject criteria and their weightage.
Get previous years’ papers and mock tests.
Brush up your basic concepts.
Enhance your vocab and general knowledge.
Work smartly as it should be qualitative approach and not the quantitative.
Also, go for a crash course if uh have no clue about the subjects.

General aptitude and knowledge about buildings and materials would be helpful. Here is the update about the 2022 IIT JEE pattern change due to the pandemic. There will be no change in the 2022 IIT JEE Pattern. However, NTA being the leader' pulling out surprises can pull one out of nowhere. The last time when NTA changed the JEE Mains pattern was for the year 2020 when they introduced the Numerical type of questions and the change in the pattern was announced in the month of January. You can go for a drop year and prepare well for next years JEE Main exam. If you have given other entrance exams like VITEEE, BITSAT and other entrance exams than you can apply based on those scores. Also look for good state engineering colleges ans their cut offs so that you can apply to those colleges.
