Preparation for the test is not necessary if you do certain things regularly like reading newspaper or going through news in paper, TV, internet, etc. Watching films like Indian, Foreign, etc. and having a writing habit writing in the sense kind of creative writing. If you are not habituated with this things then start. I don't know about the reservations, but for admission in a good NIT, you don't have to wait for the JEE Advanced score, you can get admission to the college by getting at least 250 marks in the JEE Mains exam.

While preparing for CAT, you are practicing Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical rezoning, Verbal ability and reading comprehension if I am not wrong. Similarly, SNAP is also a same pattern. Additional subject is General awareness. So, you additionally concentrate on General awareness subject.
Actually, CAT is for 300 marks and SNAP is for 180 marks. So, you can find easy in SNAP if you are well prepared for CAT.
