NEST is an entrance exam which gives you admission to the in M.Sc. Programme (I. e. both B.Sc. And M.Sc. In NISER and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai. Also, you can choose your major subject but not specifically Biotechnology. However, you would be taught some courses related to it.

You can migrate to another college provided your college has a tie-up with the target institute. Having a good academic record also helps. It will help push your application quicker. Please check on important application dates for M.sc physics. Admissions are now closed in most colleges. You can prepare to apply for the next year. However, there might be a few colleges which are still accepting students in their science courses.
B.Sc.(Genl.)/B.Sc. (Pass) (3 Years course after 10+2) with 60% or above marks in the aggregate and 60% or above marks in Physics. from Delhi University or any other University whose Examination is recognized as equivalent to Delhi University and fulfil other conditions of eligibility.

A minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate at B.Sc (General or Honours) or equivalent degree from a university endorsed by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. The student must have studied relevant subject at B.Sc.
There is also an entrance test that you need to give.
