Hello, there is no need to prepare for CAT right from your second year. Generally, around 6 months of diligent preparation for 3-4 hours daily is enough to score well in CAT. Though you can start your preparations for it, indirectly, by improving your vocabulary (read the editorial columns of leading newspapers and other books, novels, etc) and strengthening your logical reasoning and mental calculation skills (speed maths tricks, logical puzzles, etc). If you get admission in IIMs then it doesn't matter that you have work experience or not because your career is secure. But if you have work experience then it will count in evaluation at the time of admission and also you will get career growth also. Pursuing IT job and then MBA will help you in advancing in the same field.

To have such precise and clear-cut aim is indeed a great trait of a student. Once you have decided on your aim, you can definitely work towards achieving it. You have got reasonably good marks in 10th, 12th and engineering so what is left now is to crack CAT with good marks. Hence I would advise you to study well, take tuition, online coaching and then only appear for this common admission test for IIMs. I am sure once you do this you will get admission in your dream institute.

FMS Admission is a 2 stages process. The first stage is appearing for the CAT Exam conducted by the IIMs. Second stage is GD PI. Only topper are able to make it to FMS.m

Yes, you can crack BITSAT.
You can follow the following tips for the same:
1-Do not just dig only one topic for long time.
2-The basic stuff like mathematical formulae, organic chemistry reactions and other quick learning stuff should be on your tips.
3-The only subject which needs a lot practice is mathematics. The more you practice, the easier it would be to solve the question in less time.
4-BITSAT is as hard as IIT JEE. Rather than wasting time in lengthy and tricky questions, try to cover easy and scoring part completely. All the formulae must be on your tips.
