Painting is definitely have good career, if you plan it wisely. Just a degree alone is not sufficient. You need to have artistic mind and body. Various jobs include PGT for painting in schools which is equivalent to BD of teachers. You can be part of an art gallery, they also have an attractive salary. There is another one such big scope that is digital painting. With increasing digitalization of modern era the scope for digital painting is increasing to fold. If you want to start your career after B.Com then there is not a lot of scope for you in the industry because there are not a lot of career options present there. I would suggest that after taking 1 or 2 years of experience, you should go for Master's
degree courses like MBA or executive MBA that will boost your career.

It is really up to you, and how you want to take your career forward. But, I can say, in India it’s scope is very leads nowadays.
Industry will provided a far greater financial incentive and will probably be more stable than academia.
The academic side can be unstable post-docs last 3-years, teaching posts can be temporary and to climb up the ladder you will have to move around institutes/universities.
But, you also have to remember if you work in industry you can still collaborate with institutes/universities. And try to apply for foreign institutes/ universities for better future if done Ph.D.

You can go for PGDM course as nowadays this have more demand than MBA but PGDM must be done from some reputed institute.
