You need to assess your goals, first. Is there any specific reason for not working after completion of your degree? You may either take help of a career counsellor or discuss it with someone experienced to guide you.
After B.Tech in mechanical, you do have the options of going for MBA, research or education as per your interest.

If yo are job inclined, you must first complete your graduation simply by doing B.Sc in any subject (Physics has a good scope). If you are not interested in B.Sc, you can try for pharmacy.
