If you want to pursue further studies, you can go for PhD.
If not, you can go in teaching line always. You can apply for an assistant professor in college or lecture in school by clearing entrance exams. You can also try for coaching institutes.
If you interested in civil services you can go for that too.

If you are comparing these two branches on the basis of placements or higher studies then you must be aware that preference is given to a student from CSE background than an IT student.
This is because a student from CSE is supposed to be familiar with all concepts of subjects offered in IT but it's not the other way around.
