LPU provides abundant opportunities for students to think out of the box. If you get overwhelmed by the structures and construction, civil engineering is the one for you. If you are intrigued by machine designs, their mechanics, and dynamics, go for mechanical engineering. LLB Student - DU,

Personally, I would suggest to stick to LLB. LLB in itself is very rewarding, if you specialize in any one subject either, crime or civil or other specialization like IPR or competition law. Being an efficient lawyer requires a great deal of hard work. So, it would be good if you focus on one thing and do it whole heartedly. Still, if you want to pursue another course which goes parallel with LLB is CA. If you have knowledge of chartered accountant and specialize in income tax cases while doing law, you could become the king in this field. And, your Carter prospects takes another leap. Companies will pounce on you to hire you. Moreover, yo... View more

Hello Sagar,
There are many students like you who are desirous of getting out of engineering into a new field. Of course it's always good to realise this at earliest so that not many years are list. Have you done diploma after 10th or 12th? If after 12th, then no problems. But please get to know your passion. Arts/ commerce/ humanities/fine arts? It's best to pursue what you like or subject of your passion. Any of the above you can do. But it's better that you decide it yourself rather than me enforcing it on you.
Best wishes

After a BTech degree, students can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs and institutions in India. However, most Indian students tend to go abroad to pursue their masters or doctorate studies in Biotechnology and allied fields. Some students also shift to MBA and enter the world of business, finance and banking as their engineering background gives them the required quantitative skills to excel in these sectors. Also, many students shift to software through on-campus placements. Talking about on-campus placements, since the number of job openings is very less in Biotechnology, the number of companies coming for placements w... View more

Considering future prospects, yes, hotel management is undoubtedly a good option. But then, it comes with its cons as well. One, the course is TOUGH. You need to maintain journals, grooming, attendance in most IHMs and you will be deprived of what you have pictured college life to be like. Then, there's emotional and mental stress. To be honest, for the first five years or so, in this career, you'll return home mentally drained and disappointed. And of course, the work pressure and long working hours are other challenges you'll face. But yes, once you overcome it all and find a firm stand in the industry, there's no looking back.
